imafuturist: (the shit you saying?)

There was a collection of fabric, wire, and twine for class today. And the usual level of ambient glitter, of course. You just had to be used to it by now, folks. It was what happened when arts and/or crafts were around this island.

"So, we're supposed to be making some 3D fabric animals," Tony said, looking a little concerned. "And hopefully yours turn out better than ours."

That horse was an abomination.

"There's got to be a knack to it," Steve muttered stubbornly. "We...just haven't found it yet."

"It looks like something you'd seen in The Omen," Tony replied. Because it did, kids. "Or The Crucible."

"I'm positive they won't come to life and roam the woods, though," Steve said reassuringly.

Why would you put that out into the universe, Steve? Why? Tony froze in place and then turned to stare at Steve. Because now it was gonna be A Thing.

Steve gave him what he erroneously thought was a winning smile in reply. "It's fine!"

Upon entering the classroom, the students would find...kittens. Kittens everywhere! At least five of them, but perhaps as many as a dozen. It was really impossible to tell, because the kittens were in a state of high excitement, scampering around everywhere and determined to pounce upon feet.

Yennefer was seated calmly behind her desk, sipping from a cup that may or may not have contained wine. "Close the door quickly," she said. "We want to keep the chaos contained. That is what this is, an object lesson in chaos." She had considered making them catch lightning in a bottle, but apparently that would require waivers and all sorts of paperwork she didn't want to consider. "It is up to you to determine how you choose to interact with chaos, and with these kittens. Just bear in mind that I do have to return them to the animal shelter after class. You may attempt to control and contain the chaos, or allow it free rein to control you--and if you don't think it can, you've spent little time around cats." She gestured toward the floor. "Please spend your workshop time interacting with chaos."

They had made an entertainment. Whether it was watchable, or even made sense at all, was debatable, but at least everyone should get to see the result of the hard work they all had put in. Seivarden had to admit that the students had at least made some effort, even if some of them lacked talent, and even if she knew she and Amaya were no experts, she felt they had done a decent job, all in all.

That was until she started watching.

Amaya still thought it was great. But Amaya also liked RoboCop.

At least there was plenty of popcorn.

Feel free to just throw it at the screen.
