Weapons 101; Thursday, Third Period [05/21].
Thursday, May 21st, 2020 05:49 am"Morning, everyone!" It was (naturally) Amaya who greeted the class with good cheer and an eagerness to teach that morning as they gathered once again in the nice open clearing of greenery with all its colorful pennants, racks of weapons, and targets waiting to be destroyed or comically missed. "Welcome back to your next lesson. Now, the problem with a course like this is that there really are so many different directions we could take it, as there's not only a wide variety of weaponry out there, but also a good amount of variety within each type. But last week's lesson, while mostly chosen as a good easy starter that left room to get everyone's introductions out of the way, got me thinking about some of the more primitive forms of weapons and how, even without a lot of technology, you can make some pretty great things, which is why, today, we're going to be talking about the atlatl!"
And this was when Rosa stepped aside to gesture at the table that was behind her, with several atlatl's waiting to be used, with the world's most unenthusiastic "Ta-dah."
Look, wasn't it enough that she'd even let Blackstone convince her to do a 'ta-dah' in the first place?
( Yeet them Spears! )
How exactly did a early modern 21st century Brooklyn cop learn to be so good with a primitive hunting tool that was actually illegal to use in several coutries? That was a good question. Anyone else have any questions?
"And that," Amaya concluded, "is that. Now it's your turn. If you have any technical questions, feel free to ask them, otherwise, head on over to the training ground, grab your weapons, and give it a try!"
