Rosa had actually gotten back oh-so-handwavily Wednesday night, but she'd spent all day yesterday simply enjoying the solitutde of her arpartment and the company of her dog, because the job they'd pulled her in for back home involved a stake-out. With Charles Boyle. For a whole week. And, sure, the guy had once taken a bullet to the butt for her and she actually did like him, for the most part, but being around Boyle for an hour was taking, much less a week, so, yeah, she was definitely going to revel in not having to deal with anyone except her stupid dog for a while.

And then head to her last class. Just in time for the mistletoe, too. Thankfully, it seemed to at least have some concept of decency and boundaries by avoiding the classroom...although maybe it might have something to do with the fact that Rosa, sitting at the desk up front, feet on the table, was also armed with her flamethrower today.

Overkill?

Maybe.

But it was the small flamethrower!

Either way, she was there, and she assumed her students would be there, too, and eventually she got started.

"Okay," she said, "it's the last class. It's that stupid mistletoe day, and I'm sure you guys don't want to be here any more than I do, so we'll make this quick and easy. All you gotta do is tell me why you think you deserve to pass this class as a bad ass bitch."

Especially if you actually cooperated with the substitute teacher these last few weeks. Who even does that?

"That's it. Who wants to go first?"

Well, students, if you were surprised to walk into a classroom to see Steve ranting about consent to a piece of mistletoe, you were probably new this summer. "Of course I like kissing him," he concluded, jabbing his thumb at Tony, "but it's not professional to do it here."

Tony smoothly stepped in front of the plant-based lecture. "Last class if the year! Almost made it without something weird happening," he said as the mistletoe managed to somehow look sheepish from the sheer force of patriotic disappointment.

"If we ignore the entire summer, sure," Steve muttered, giving the mistletoe another glare for good measure.

"There was also a class after the summer," Tony replied brightly. "But today we'll be discussing the ramifications of the sitting President of the United States being impeached on corruption charges."

Or maybe having a tiny celebration about it. Same thing.

"And the baller--did I use that right?--move of the Speaker of the House not sending the impeachment over to the Senate for trial until they've hashed out how the trial will go," Steve said with a smile. "And despite what he says, he was very definitely impeached. I watched it happen, even if my TV showed all of the members of Congress as elves on Wednesday."

"It was pretty great," Tony said with a happy little sigh. Look, it was some of the best political news in a long while. Let them wallow in it.

"So your final exam question is to predict what will happen when the Senate trial takes place, and then to have snacks and celebrate with us." Steve added, grinning, "since Speaker Pelosi isn't here to give us her Mom look."

Today, the Danger Shop was made up like a perfectly normal modern kitchen, with stations for each student. Hannibal leaned on the one at the front of the class. He saw some mistletoe creeping in and raised an eyebrow at it; it burst into flame.

"I've programmed the room to keep that ridiculous plant life out, so feel free to spend as long here as you like. Today is your final; I would like you to take the techniques and lessons you've learned from past classes and make your own food. Ask for help if you need it."

He would be making a Buche de Nöel.
