There was chocolate behind every door. Tip had been on the island long enough now that that wasn't too surprising for her. She was hardly even bothered by having Christmas shoved in her face all December, anymore.

She was, however, having a lovely time trying to construct an improvised door to see if the chocolate manifested itself behind it.

She was even writing it all down. It wasn't wasting time, it was science!

Today the Danger Shop was set up like an actual game show set instead of a mansion or a giant kitchen or whatever. "All our students, come on down!" Vanessa called cheerfully. "It's Cyber Monday here on The Price is Right!"

"That's right! Its time to get buried in emails about deals you don't need it want!" Wade added. "You'll be guessing the price of this beautiful car radio!"

It has clearly been ripped out of a car. So...

"The person who gets closest gets to spin a giant wheel!" Vanessa told them. Then she turned to Wade and said, "Wait, do we want retail or street value?"

"It doesn't matter because none of the prizes are real." Wow, your teachers sure care a lot.

"Except for this fake ID for Brian Earl Spilner of Los Angeles, California!" Vanessa said, holding it up like a game show model. Oooh. Aaaah.

"It's Christmas, and there's chocolate," Lucifer sighed. He was slouched over in the chair behind his desk. "Why in Father's name are you lot even here?"

He wondered that frequently, truth be told, but whatever.

"Right, police work," he said. "Is a thing. That we're studying here in this class. And sometimes? Police work is very boring. Very, excruciatingly dull, in fact."

He sat up. "Which is why there are multiple boxes on one side of this room," he said, "And sheets of paper and objects on the other side of the room. I want you all to go through the sheets of papers and the objects, try not to go mad from the boredom of it all, and sort them all into the correct box."

He was having a bad day. Repression was not something you could always manage consistently.

"And then at the end of it all, you can tell me whether or not this work makes you want to do crimes. Chop chop."

Today the students were in a small room with a computer for each of them. Think of any movie you've seen where the token hacker spent half the climax of the movie while the stars did action things. Small and dark and lit up with blue light from the computer. It looked like that.

"We've talked about ethics and ways not to use these sorts of skills, so we're not going into it again," Kitty assured them. "But today you're going to try and patch into the security cameras to a small fictional town in Everywhere, USA. You're going to try and bypass government security protocols and see what's going on in the town."

She ran through a quick explainer on how to do this, and said, "You have detailed instructions on how to do this on your tablets, so I'm going to see how you figure it out, and you have notebooks to take notes on what you find. If you need me, I'm right here."
