This Earth holiday might be all about thankfulness, but Lana was mostly disgruntled that it meant no classes for two days, which meant four days in a row. She was now determinedly finding anything interesting she could study, because it was so boring otherwise! She felt useless if she wasn't doing something.

Right now, that something was studying the history of exploitation of indigenous peoples, from both the conqueror's and the conquered's position. She suspected there were some things that the Empire could be doing better, and if they could learn from this tiny world's experiences, that was all to the good.

The books were being very helpful.
