Culture Shock, Thursday, Period 2
Thursday, March 21st, 2019 07:19 am"So," Kanan said, maybe a touch tersely today, "sometimes, it doesn't matter how well-acclimated to a place you are, the differences will still sneak up and overwhelm you."
Not that he was speaking about any particular situation in the least. At all. Even a little bit.
Maybe a little bit.
"And that," Summer added, maybe a touch groggily today, "sometimes means that the best learning experience for those times….is a movie."
Not that she was super-tired from having to get up early and do radio because someone else was a rabbit or anything. Not at all. Not even a little bit.
Maybe a lot bit.
"Trust me," Kanan muttered, "the movie's the best possible teacher, today. Yesterday's class prep time on my end was spent bouncing between being fourteen and," blind, "a penguin."
That too.
"And that's way more than you'll be getting from me about my experiences," Summer said, smiling sweetly. "Anyway, this movie is about two Americans lost in the strange culture of Tokyo and Japan, but also in, like, life and stuff."
"Life and stuff is, indeed, a strange thing," Kanan replied, completely deadpan. "Anyway, it's my first time seeing this one, too, so try to be quiet while you pass notes or whatever."
... He'd probably just nap.
