"Welcome back, everyone," Amaya greeted the class with a stern nod and a slightly concerned wrinkle in her brow, though she wasn't sure exactly why. Today's class would be a bit involved, sure, but it wasn't anything she felt they couldn't handle, but she'd just had this feeling of unease since she got there.

"Hope you're ready to get to work, because we've got a lot to squeeze into today. Remember those models we made last week? Well, today, we're putting them to good use through a process called sand casting. That's when you make a mold out of tightly packed, slightly damp sand for founding whatever little pieces you'd like with the pattern you've made. Not necessarily the best way to cast an item, but definitely an effective, quick, and fairly cheap way to do.

Sand Casting! )

"Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be checking in on you as you work, so let's just get to it."

And, hopefully, this uncertain feeling would pass. After all, Beaker wasn't even in this class this semester; she didn't know what she felt so worried about...

Hannibal poured red sauce onto the dish in front of him at the school entrance when the students arrived there. "There is a reason we've requested meeting here this week instead of Portalocity."

Jono, meanwhile, looked at Hannibal in faint puzzlement. Probably because that sauce and that dish both hadn't been there a moment before. //Er, yes,// he agreed. //The island's up to it's... whatever. And assuming this is a far-reaching thing, we... wouldn't want it following us to a cliffside or a wildlife safari or space.//

The dish disappeared as soon as it had come, and Hannibal was left shuffling papers on his desk. He sighed in exasperation. "So, instead we will be going to the movies in town. Hopefully this strangeness will at least let us enjoy that much."

Jonothon nodded, revving the engine on... well, if anyone from their class had been from his reality, they'd probably recognize the Hellbike and be duly impressed. As it stood, it was still a pretty badass bike, anyway. //Fortunately, it's a short walk.//

It wasn't like he was going to get far on the bike, after all.

Teenaged Hannibal squinted at him.

Jono stood dramatically as the sun began to set.

...

//Let's... let's just get going.//

Hannibal stuck out his snakey tongue.

Steve, for some reason today, was 5 feet tall and maybe 80 pounds dripping wet and wearing an outfit straight out of the 1940s. Could be worse--he'd been a woman when they'd left the house. "Right, well, we're back from some emergencies that couldn't wait until after class," he said. "Hopefully JARVIS took good care of you last week."

Tony, on the other hand, was a child. And very put out about it. "If the island would stop--" He gestured broadly in the direction of, you know, everything. "Today we'll go easy because one thing should work for us. We're building solar panels. From a kit."

It hurt him to say that.

And now Steve was in his full Captain America uniform, shield and all. He looked vaguely annoyed from under his cowl. "Hopefully they'll stay a little more stable than we are."

"Doubt it." Tony muttered, picking at the tuxedo he was in now.
