"Okay, this next one we've got a few sources on." Miguel queued up a few different sources. "It's a pretty common idea. And really tempting right around this time of year, let me tell you. So, pick a way and figure it out. Weird implants, lasers, chemicals, whatever. Shock, a really big paper bag. Just make something invisible. And remember not to try it on yourself first, okay? No matter how tempting."

Class today had pillows and blankets like a perfectly reasonable thing for teaching.

Perfectly. Reasonable.

"I feel like I'm in the future," Magnus said from a blanket burrito. "Am I living in the future?"

"...no." Cara wasn't under any blankets, but she did look like she wished she hadn't gotten out of bed.

Blanket burrito was the best way to be. "Oh. But we still get to nap, right?"

"Yes, there will be naps." Way to make it sound like the kids had a choice about it, Cara.

"Today is about... Self care?" He made that into a question somehow.

"You can't care for the team until you care for yourself." That's what Cara was going with.Mostly she was just tired.

"Exactly!" They were such good teachers.

Truly they were.

Zack walked into the classroom today with a small puff of fur in his arms, smiled at the classroom, and then immediately set the little creature down on the floor.

Immediately, it took off in a tangle of legs, with its long, fluffy tail trailing along behind it.

"So, foxes," Zack said, smiling wryly as the little guy went trotting around the room, looking for mischief to get into. "They've been domesticated for a while, generally for fur. This little guy was from a different line of domestication, though, brought up as the result of an actual experiment on domestication in Russia that started... sixty years ago or something? Where they were bred specifically for traits like friendliness."

Anybody who wasn't moving around too much was going to have a fox sniffing at their feet. And then possibly pouncing at them playfully, looking for somebody to wrestle with.

"So far as temperament goes, they're..." Zack watched the fox trot off to jump up onto a chair, and then up onto the teacher's desk, where it proceeded to try to abscond with a stapler. "... Kind of like cats on caffeine. Constantly. You need a pretty particular setup to keep a fox, because they'll want to get into everything, which includes chewing wires and... trying to bury staplers, I guess."

The little guy was going to get that sucker into that corner if he had to battle with it all day.

"Today we're going to play with this guy," he continued, watching those antics for a few moments before shaking his head in bemusement, "and maybe when it's time to take him back to the shelter, he'll be ready for a nap."

Probably not, though.
