"'Morning, everyone!" Amaya greeted the class with her usual restrained cheerfulness that just want along with knowing you were going to be spending the next hour hard at work. "Hard to believe that we're coming up on the end of the semester here fairly soon, isn't it? Well, with that in mind, these next two lessons are going to be a bit of a two-parter. We're going to be cracking out our mini-foundries again here next week, where we're going to be making our own molds and casting something with metal melted in our foundries, like we did with the biscuit trays, only this is going to be you deciding what you'll be casting.

"Now, with the method we'll be using, you can use just about anything to press your mold, but what's the fun in using something that's already been made? Today, we're going to be making our models for what we want to make our mold out of, which gives a bit more freedom and fun to what you can make come next week. You're all pretty familiar with the various saws we've got available, you know how to use them safely," or avoid using certain ones for safety, "and wood's a nice, easy material to build stuff out of. So think about what you might like to cast out of metal, make yourself a plan on how to construct it out of wood, and then get to it! If you're uncertain of exactly how to make what you want to make work, just ask and I probably help you figure it out. If you'd like to use a material other than wood, feel free, but we're not looking for anything fancy with these, just something to give us the right shape and form for our molds.

"And that's about it. You all know the drill: grab some coffee if you need it, suit up with your protective gear, and let's get to work! I'm really interested to see what you guys decide to come up with."

There were no teachers today. Just a plate of cookies (lemon blueberry strudel) and a note, on the front desk, along with an envelope.

The note read: To whoever gets here first: Congratulations! Within this envelope is a $150 gift card to Sushi Station, to use as you see fit! Will you wait around for your classmates and take them all out for something small, or will you enjoy all of it for yourself? The choice is yours, after all.

Was this a test? Was this just the teachers feeling generous? Who knew!

But, really, what would a friend do?

[OOC: Open! Welcome to weird social experiment class with your hosts, two hopeless yet charismatic opposites.]

So apparently book-swarms were a thing. Or were in the Fandom library, at least, Tip knew better than to assume anything that happened in Fandom necessarily also happened anywhere else.

The important thing was, there was a whole slew of beekeeping books swishing in and out of the nonfiction section stacks in a big blob, pages buzzing, ready to give paper cuts to anyone who came near.

Tip couldn't find any sort of protective bookkeeping suit around, so she was just going to keep an eye on it from afar and see if it tired itself out. If not . . . she was not above letting it be the next person's problem. She hated paper cuts.

The danger shop was done up to look like your generic big box store, crammed full of people who were clamoring for deals for the holiday season. Because your teachers either loved or hated you. It was pretty debatable either way.

"Today you're all gonna learn an important lesson in surviving whatever holiday you celebrate. Also, punching soccer moms," Wade said.

"Because punching soccer moms is a way more useful skill for surviving the holiday season than you might expect," Vanessa agreed. "Welcome to Black Friday, so named because it is a bottomless pit of despair that has swallowed Thanksgiving whole."

"Go buy toys for your future children to tie it into the other half of the class," Wade added. "You get bonus points if you bring me anything Pikachu related."

"The it toy of the season is a pillow with a picture of Bea Arthur's face on it," Vanessa said. It was also what Wade was getting for Christmas, but he didn't know that yet unless he was reading the narrative again. Dammit, Wade. "There is only one in the entire store, and everyone else wants it, too. The person who brings it back to me before the end of class gets a prize."

Wade totally gasped in delight over the narrative, but wisely didn't spoil the surprise. Because he was a good fiance who only faked his death once. "We thought about giving you a budget but math isn't either of our strong suits."

"If it looks like a good deal just throw it in your cart," Vanessa advised. "Try not to get stampeded and/or shot, because that's apparently a possibility now. Aaaaaaand GO."
