For some reason, Kanan looked the slightest bit twitchy today. It was only a very slight bit, he was usually pretty good at keeping most of his twitchiness under wraps. But it was there all the same.

Twitchy.

"Another scenario today for you," he said to a class that he'd told to meet outside, today. "Let's say it's been about two weeks since something happened and the troopers here in town have started actually not being useless, for a change. The trade-off is that they're looking for all of you, and the orders are shoot-to-kill. You don't have a weapon, you don't have money, you don't have access to the dorms, and anybody in town could potentially recognize you and turn you in."

He waved a hand down from the school grounds toward the town proper.

"But you still have to survive here. You need to eat. You need to sleep, but you're alone and the troopers could stumble over you at any moment. Most of all, you need to get away, and the damn Causeway isn't letting you cross."

He glanced back at the class.

"What do you do? What takes priority? How can you be certain that making sure your needs are met isn't going to get you killed?"

It was a bedraggled-looking Edward who met them at the Danger Shop that morning, offering no apologies for his absence last week (hangover), but wielding a tired smirk none the less.

"Right, I'd rather do this outside, but unfortunately, we're a bit low on galleons 'round this island," he said. "Now I stole my ship, the Jackdaw, from a Spanish fleet shortly before I came here. The wind was whipping about, and I was stuck in the hold. But my friend Adé, he concocted a plan: he used the oatmeal we'd been given for our breakfast to loosen up the shackles that bound us together."

He punched a button, and the Danger Shop morphed itself into a ship around them - another not far away from them.

"Together, we managed to give them the slip," he said. "We freed a few more good men and escaped our prison. Then we entered the next ship, subdued those aboard," 'subdued' being the PG-13 version of what they did, here, "and took the vessel for our own. We were lucky: a storm was comin' and sank the rest of the fleet before they could tell we'd scarpered."

That smirk was looking a bit less tired, now.

"So today, we're practicing how to enter a ship and take it for yourself," he said. "I want you all to work together, now, aye? Take a cutlass and a gun and hop aboard - or offer covering fire with the cannons."

A beat.

"We'll see how you lot did next week."

Cara had been quite insistent on where class was being held today. Which was why they had been told to meet at the Onsen. Where Cara was already in the tub.

Look, there'd been a lot of physical labour yesterday.

"Cannon ball!" Magnus was a menace who needed to be stopped, but this was the life chosen by everyone around him. This right here. Unless he whiffed this dex roll. Or Cara clothes-lined him. One was more likely than the other.

Especially given Cara had form when it came to people interrupting her baths. "Magnus, no," she said flatly, probably too late to do any good.

"...but it's pool time," Magnus whined, coming up short of the Onsen and giving both it and her a sad, sad look.

"It's a bath, not a pool," Cara said, in the voice of someone who was mentally blocking out time for a class on the beach now.

"Fine," Magnus sighed like the mature teacher he was. "Today we're learning about taking hot baths and getting massages to relax after a hard day of work. Where you can't do any cannon-balls."

But you could get ducked under water if you annoyed a cranky Mord'Sith enough. "Beyond the considerations of hygiene, which I would hope I don't have to explain to you." Even if some of them were teenage boys. Or Magnus. "These kind of communal baths enable relaxation and socialisation. " And hookups, but that wasn't this class.

That class would end in tears, to he quite honest.

"And we got bathing suits for you all just in case," Magnus added. "No stats on them, though."

Not even a +5 to hotness. Or embarrassment, since teenagers.
