"For next week's final, we'll be traveling to my home in my time," Bruce explained. "Gotham City, fifty years since you last saw it at the beginning of class. And since we've dealt almost exclusively with the past, specifically how cities have moved forward from some kind of destruction, I'm curious to see what you think of the future."

"Instead of me telling you about my Gotham, I want you to tell me what you think you'll see," Bruce said. "Gotham of Fandom's present day is a busy city with active industry, it's a financial center, and it's constantly threatened by crime, both regular and super. How does that project out fifty years? What technologies do you see being developed from now to then?"

"The only fact I'll give you is that a large percentage of petty crime is committed by the Jokerz, a motorcycle gang that dresses like an evil clown."

Today's class wasn't being held in a classroom. It wasn't even being held in the school. Today's class was being held in Cafe Fina where Hatter had set the students up at a table.

"Easy day, today," he explained, standing up and grinning. "You're going to watch how I run my business."

He spread his arms wide to indicate his kingdom. "I want you to keep an eye on the staff, on me, on the salesmanship tactics that you see, the decor of the place and how it affects customers, and anything else we've learned."

He clapped his hands once. "Don't be afraid to tell me what you think either! I won't be too mad if you criticize me. I'll only give you detention." Pause. "Kidding! Enjoy!"

//Right. So... We don't have much of a discussion prepared for today,// Jono admitted, looking a touch sheepish. //This semester apparently hasn't been much good for that. But we haven't cashed in our 'movie day' get out of jail free card yet, either, so I found an old episode of the Y-People cartoon to show, and then we can discuss it afterward. How you felt about the situation of the young girl, your opinion on the animation, whatever you wish. It's topical, at least.//

He shrugged his shoulders, and then slid a Y-People VHS into an old VCR, because that was just how the 90s rolled, okay?

There was a disproportionate amount of sweets on the table today, along with pizza and sodas, but Zoe figured this was the week to spoil everyone with a sugar high.

"Well, we survived prom," she said, smirking, "and that means this is our last meeting of the school year. To the seniors, I hope you stay for the summer, or at least come back to visit. To the rest of you, I'd better see you next year." The 'or else' was just implied. "For now, enjoy your food, because you've earned it."
