Bruce had a large, stuffed backpack over his shoulders when he arrived for class today, where once again he had instructed his students to meet in the hallway just outside the Danger Shop. "Good morning," he said, awkwardly 'excuse me'-ing his way to the front of the group. "I hope you've all brought your tools that we talked about for today. It's my understanding that this past week was a little hectic and stressful for many of you, so I hope that no one's chosen to go it alone today."

He looked thoughtful for a minute, like he had something else to say but couldn't remember it, so after an awkward little beat, he unlocked the door and pushed it open.

The Shop was made to resemble the interior of a small, cramped commercial airplane, but not a very nice one: the seats were small and there was very little legroom; the overhead air conditioning was seriously on the fritz and the entire plane was intolerably cold; there were no blankets or pillows; the TVs weren't working; the only seats that remained unoccupied, totaling the exact number of Fandom students who had shown up for the final, were middle seats between talkative, unpleasant passengers; there was a shrieking infant (or possibly more than one) somewhere very close to everyone's seat; someone was playing metal music loudly enough for it to be heard through their headphones; the flight attendants were all sour and unhelpful; and the entire plane smelled of someone's rather pungent lunch that they had brought on board.

Bruce didn't feel that much more talk was necessary. He clapped his hands together once. "Find a seat, try to sit in it with your... hooves and everything, and try to get through the next hour," he said, a touch sympathetic. "Good luck."

Hey, kids! It's a very Doom Final!

"I have taught you much this semester. Perhaps you have learned something from my lessons. Perhaps not. We shall see," Doom said. "Your task for this final is to invent something. This will be yours regardless of what it is, be it a weapon, a teleportation device, or anything else you can imagine and build within an hour."

"You will have the full hour to design and build your invention, minus this introduction. At the end of the period, you will bring your invention to the front of the lab, where we will be temporarily transported one hour into the past in a secure location to test your inventions. This should only take a few minutes for each invention, after which you will be brought back to this lab, seconds after you left. This serves not only to maximize your time, but also as a reminder that I brought mechanical time travel to my world."

"Any parts you may need are in the middle of the lab. Use your consoles for any help you may need. You will be graded on your invention's creativity and effectiveness. For this examination, I care little for aesthetics."

"Begin."

When the class met today, they were in a typical classroom rather than the Danger Shop.

"Today is your final examination," Thor reminded them. "And as I have no record of what went on in the earlier portion of this class, we will focus only on those sessions I have taught. With that in mind, please select one of the creatures we disscussed and write me a short paragraph on how you might avoid being killed by it."

Yep. That was it.

When the last student had handed in their paper, Thor addressed the class again. "It was a pleasure working with you, and I hope we'll see each other again, perhaps in the spring semester."

Cade was alone in the Danger Shop with his hooves and antlers and a really pissed off look on his face. "If this is something to do with the weather machine from yesterday, I'm going to karking shoot something," he threatened, "and not just in a final kind of way."

How he was going to shoot anything with hooves instead of hands was another problem...

He shrugged. "Anyway, Jack had better things to do today or else couldn't figure out how to make her hooves open her door...she's not here so I get to start up the final simulation in teamwork. I tweaked it slightly, so we have to work in teams of two to sneak past that guy in red at the mall--" Santa, Cade, "--and take toys without getting noticed by the kids in line or his lackeys."

Elves, Cade.

"After that, if anyone can figure out how to lift 'me, drinks are on me at the bar."

Riley had the students in a regular classroom today. He was sitting on the desk, swinging his feet back and forth while he waited for everyone to wander in and settle down. Once they did, he stood up.

"Hey guys, thanks for coming and for being pretty great this semester," he said, nodding. "I'm gonna be sticking around next semester so I hope to see some of you guys again. I don't have a lot planned for your final. No comprehensive tests or multiple choice exams or pages where you have to write essays. Basically, I've got one question that I want you to answer on the blank sheets of paper in front of you."

He gave a nod to the paper and pen that was situated on each desk. "So, for your final, just answer this question: are overlooked historical events important or have they been overlooked for a reason and therefore shouldn't be examined further?"

And that was it. Riley nodded at the students and let them get going on the final.
