If there was an air of "ugh, Monday" when the students got to the Danger Shop theater, well... ugh, Monday.

To be fair, this wasn't far off from Jaye's normal state of being. The whole world was pretty much "ugh, Monday."

"The good thing is, at least we're firmly in Nicolas Cage's fun phase, where all his movies were pretty stupid when you really looked at them but at least they were entertaining," she said. "Today you get to watch that one movie where he and John Travolta switch faces. And, if you're new, then you'll finally understand so many pop culture references by the end of this class."

"Good morning," Yeul said from the front of the classroom. She would have kept them outside, but the weather was poor and while Yeul did not mind… she was aware other people would. "Professor Wiggin is absent today and I am to lead class in his stead."

Which was what it was. She assumed he would be back at some point. A tray of sandwiches along with juice and coffee were on the table to her left.

"I was not left with a topic to discuss with you, as I believe his absence was unplanned." Not that this class particularly lent itself to a strict syllabus but… "That being said, the Professor's absence leads well enough into a discussion on its own."

Yeul smiled. "Let us talk about change today. Any sort of change. Would you say you are different from whom you were a year ago? What changes have you made to your lives? What changes have you adapted to?" She spread her hands out and shrugged slightly, still smiling. "As per usual, if you do not wish to stay on topic, please do not feel you have to. Let's begin, shall we?"

Today's "topic"? Pizza.

As evidenced by the approximately eleven-million types of pizza present on the tables (along with appropriate non-alcoholic beverages to accompany, of course).

"The pizza," Thor began. "Was invented in Italy, where it is recognized officially as a 'traditional specialty'. This has not stopped other nations from taking the dish and putting their own spin on it, of course, but if you want the genuine original style of pizza, that is where you would find it." Or on the table at the front of the classroom. Because Thor had ways of making that happen. "Of course, dishes referred to as 'pizza' have existed here on Midgard for hundreds of years, but it was not until your 18th century that the tomato sauce was added to the flat bread to create what you know as a pizza."

Lecturing done, it was time for the real purpose of the class... nomming!

"I hope everyone had a nice time last week during your break," Steve said. He was aware some teachers didn't give Memorial Day off at this school, but to him it was too important a holiday. "Today we're going to focus on running. Ideally, I think you should be running every day--it's good exercise, could come in handy, and might help save your life. And this island's a good place to run on; no cars to dodge. But enough talk, let's get started."

The class was in the gym today, with mats set down on the floor. Regular mats, no sign of sumo anything.

"So after last week, I figure I'll give you something no one will find silly, or roll their eyes at," Jaina began. Though last week had been great for her. It was just too bad she didn't tape it. "This week you're going to be hitting each other. I want you guys to pair up and do some sparring. If it makes you more comfortable, there's padding in the lockers back there, and if anyone needs help, just let me know."

See, Jaina could be nice to you sometimes.
