Summer Fitness - 2nd Period, Monday - 5/13

There was no overly muscular blond teacher at the head of the class today. But on the plus side, there were two teenagers there instead.

So. Time to get your learning on with the TAs, kids!

"Hi," Tony said with a quick smile. "So, Mr. Rogers had an emergency back home and wasn't able to be here today. If you don't know who I am, my name is Tony." He paused, looking to his partner in teaching for this class.

"And my name is Ryan," she said, glancing over the class to see if there were any surprised faces. Most people were usually caught off-guard to find out that Ryan was a girl.

"We'll keep things easy for you all since it's the first day of classes. And think of this as a warm up for all the introductions you'll be doing this week. Um, just tell us your name, grade, and what fitness level you think you're at." Sound easy enough?

"And once we're done with introductions, we'll get in some cardio by running laps," added Ryan. "That shouldn't be too difficult for everyone."

Cultural Appreciation, Period Four

As the students entered the classroom, they would find circular tables piled high with an assortment of baked goods and beverages.

"Good afternoon!" Thor greeted everyone enthusiastically once they'd found their seats. These days, Thor spent a lot of time in Midgardian clothing, he'd donned the armour, cape and all. "Throughout the next several weeks, we will be exploring various aspects of Midgardian culture." And by 'aspects' he meant food. "As is customary during the first week, we shall take today to perform introductions. So, names! And if you could also speak of a favourite dish from your own culture."

A beat. "I suppose I should start. I am Thor, and I will be your instructor, of course. You needn't bother with a title, just Thor is fine," he grinned. "And my favourite meal is the roast Sæhrímnir, a type of boar served in Asgard." He pointed to someone at random. "You, go ahead."

Upon the completion of introductions, Thor motioned in Darcy's direction. "Darcy Lewis, you are hereby appointed as my teaching assistant. There is one other TA position, and should any of you be interested, please come speak to me."

Practical Philosophy, Monday

Ender had always preferred to teach his classes outside whenever possible. When it became obvious the morning would be a little chilly but not rainy, he posted a note on his designated classroom's door pointing all the students towards the dorm lawn.

He sat down on the grass out there, legs folded. By his side was a bag full of sandwiches, just in case any student had missed breakfast. And there he waited, quiet and patient, until everyone had arrived.

Hitting Things 101- Tuesday- 4th period

Jaina's first class met in the Danger Shop, where she was standing in front of a line of training dummies. Gee, wonder what you were doing today.

"This is Hitting Things 101," Jaina began, and truth be told, she just liked saying that. "If you're wondering what you're going to be doing in here, you didn't read the class title too well. This is a class where you're going to have different opportunities to beat things up in a safe environment. Some of you will probably be using this for some sort of training, and that's totally fine. Some of you will just be wanting catharsis. That's fine, too. You'll be able to do things more or less at your own pace here, so no one has to worry about what level of fighting they're at.

"Now since this is our first class, I just want you all to tell me who you are and where you're from, and then you can pick a dummy and hit it. And if you don't know how to throw a proper punch, please ask me or someone else for help because I'm not sending anyone to the clinic with a broken hand on day one."
