Summer Fitness - 2nd Period, Monday - 5/13

There was no overly muscular blond teacher at the head of the class today. But on the plus side, there were two teenagers there instead.

So. Time to get your learning on with the TAs, kids!

"Hi," Tony said with a quick smile. "So, Mr. Rogers had an emergency back home and wasn't able to be here today. If you don't know who I am, my name is Tony." He paused, looking to his partner in teaching for this class.

"And my name is Ryan," she said, glancing over the class to see if there were any surprised faces. Most people were usually caught off-guard to find out that Ryan was a girl.

"We'll keep things easy for you all since it's the first day of classes. And think of this as a warm up for all the introductions you'll be doing this week. Um, just tell us your name, grade, and what fitness level you think you're at." Sound easy enough?

"And once we're done with introductions, we'll get in some cardio by running laps," added Ryan. "That shouldn't be too difficult for everyone."

You'll be doing this a lot this week, so man up.

Raven waved her hand a little. "I'm Raven. I'm a sophomore, and I guess I'm in pretty good shape? I'm not an athlete, but I dance and things."

'And things in this case meant lifted weights and sometimes got into fights at home, but she didn't think her classmates needed that information, just now.

"Dance is good," Tony assured her. "As long as it keeps you active."

"Oh, I'm very active," Raven assured him.

"I'm Anya, a sophomore, and I'm in good shape," said the girl confidently. She was a competitive gymnast, after all.

And a superhero, but shh.

These days, who wasn't a superhero?

"Then you'll be doing just fine in this class."

It was a dying breed, the Normal Folk.

"Yep! I guess I cheated by signing here, but I wanted to be sure that I would at least do okay in one class."

"Hey, I'm Zee and a--junior, I guess?" Summer made it hard to tell. "I'm not in great shape anymore. I used to be, but I haven't been out much this past year. I need to get back up to where I used to be, and then better."

"Trust me, Mr. Rogers will get you into shape," Tony replied. Because god damn it, he learned that the hard way.

"Good," Zee replied grinning. "I'm going to need it for the rest of my classes."

She wasn't a superhero, but you wouldn't be able to tell that from her class choices.

"William Murdoch, senior," or he would be, once the school year started, he supposed. "I run, and do a bit of boxing." And, yeah, once he peeled off the suit jacket in preparation for running laps, it showed. For a nerd, he was pretty fit.

It's not so bad! And hey, if they guy with the heart problem is running faster than you...

He's not sayin', he's just sayin'.

Raven wasn't exactly pushing herself. If she really wanted to show off, she could turn into a cheetah or something, but that wasn't exactly blending in, was it? Instead, she set an easy, quick jog she could keep up for awhile, and used the time to look around at her classmates.

It felt so nice for Zeela to just run. She'd been stuck inside--quite literally inside--for too long and those few times she'd gotten to come out hadn't been enough for her.

She took off at a decent clip, but had to slow sooner than she'd liked when she found herself short of breath.

Wooorst!

Running laps was easy.

Anya tried not to show off. She still kept a good pace.

When they ping in!

Tony was, of course, there. And ready for another jog today. After he had more coffee, that is.

Ryan was there, and trying her best not to collapse in exhaustion after a few "easy" laps.
