When the students arrived at the meeting room, they'd find sandwiches, chips, and sodas waiting for them, as well as a ridiculous bowl of Halloween candy because hey, why not?

"Good afternoon," she said brightly, once everyone had taken their seats. "Homecoming was an... interesting success, so well done, all of you." And she'd gotten the glitter out of her robes, so she was being sincere about that. "I don't believe there is anything coming soon for which we need to plan, unless you all would like to discuss the Thanksgiving holiday? That's this month, if I'm not mistaken, and perhaps something should be done for those who will be staying at the school instead of going home to their families."

Minerva had a bit of a soft spot for people not going home on holiday. Call it an old habit.

"Some of you I've seen last weekend, and some of you didn't come along," Kaidan said, sitting down behind the desk. He looked a little distracted. "Either way, I'm sure all of you have some opinion on species different from yourselves - whether it's about how you expect them to be like, or how you know them to be like. I figured today we could just sit down and talk about it for a while."

He scraped his throat. "We've only known of the existence of alien species since... well, around when I was born. At the start we were a little in awe of them, and at the same time, a little afraid. So was I, actually. And then one day, I had... a pretty bad run-in with one, and I realized they're not much different from us any of us. Some of them are good people, some of them are bad. Every species has its quirks, but it's not defined by them."

"Anyway, the floor is yours. Talk about it. Please."

"Once upon a time," Jono said, speaking without preamble as he walked into the classroom looking fairly well-rested, even if he smelled a little like Mr. Clean, "there was this bloke who didn't stand a chance in hell of fitting in, back home. He was, on top of being a little antisocial to start with, a mutant, hated and feared by humanity because his genes were a little different. And, beyond that... Well..." He held up a photo of himself in his X-Men days for the classroom to see, face unwrapped and fire twisting violently around him. "... Frankly, he was a little terrifying. Even other mutants, people with the same problems as him, shrank away from him as though he was a monster."

He managed to deliver that line in a fairly cavalier sort of way. It still stung, but the point was mostly moot, these days.

"Revolution," Magneto began solemnly. "The word has lost all meaning. Lost in a world of marketing and media. Today you are more likely to hear the term used when selling shoes or a mobile phone rather than world events. A pity."

Magneto began to circuit the room. "There are several types of revolution. Political. Cultural. Societial and technical. You'd be mistaken to think that a revolution is simply rapid change of government. That is more of a revolt. For our purposes a revolution is a fundmental change in power, culture or society. Most revolutions are violent though some... very rarely, have been peaceful. Keep in mind when these changes occur there is an external factor involved. Never confuse a coup with a revolution. A coup happens from the top down. A revolution occurs from outside the cultural or political power currently in place."

"We've already discussed some of the factors that could lead to a revolution," Magneto continued as he returned to the front of the classroom. "Today I would like you all to take a moment to discuss a revolution that has taken place in your world or timeline and the lasting effect it might have had on you or your family."

And with that he randomly pointed at a student. "You first."
