And sorry, kids, you'd just have to come back from space to sit in the Danger Shop Theater for a while here. At least you didn't really have to do anything?

"So it's almost Halloween, and it's first period so I might as well give you really gross images to take with you for the rest of the day, so we're going to watch zombies," Jaye said. "Get broader in your essay today. Like, what do you think is the philosophy behind the genre? Stealing from Romero for this is encouraged, because it's easy."

"I don't know if anyone here got to go on the field trip over the weekend. I hope you did," Zayne said. "As a someone from space myself, I think it's a good experience getting out there and seeing what other planets have to offer. Of course, I'm probably biased."

"Anyway, last week we started a section on advertising. I hope the video really solidified the point that advertising can really establish a for your product, sometimes independent of whether or not it deserves that mood. There's more than a few terrible products that have been propped up by a really good ad, after all."

Ads! Ads! More ads! Well, only one ad, but plenty of talking about them. )

"Hello," Liara said, with a little wave. "I hope you do not mind that we have asked to meet later than our usual hour. However, it is getting darker earlier now, and that will be very helpful for today's work."

As one could tell by the fact they were a) outside in the park and b) had a telescope or three to their name.

Just ignore those heavy winds, guys.

"Since a bunch of us were just in space, we figured looking at stars would be good," Topher said. "Space, stars, astronomy, it's all kind of the same field. I mean, this isn't as cool as actually being there, but..."

"It is a worthwhile field of science," Liara chastised. "We may identify heavenly bodies and observe them. Of course these telescopes are not strong enough to help us discover new worlds... but it is a start."

"So, we looked it up," Topher said, "and tonight you can see a bunch of stuff, like Arcturus, which is just at the top of the arc thingy of the Big Dipper. It's orange, so that's pretty cool."

"It is?" Evan blinked and squinted upwards, grinning a little bit at the sight of a sky full of stars. "It is," he confirmed. Because one so often needed to have a second opinion on something like that, sure. "Tonight is also the full hunter's moon, so if you want to see as much of the surface of the moon as you can take in from Earth, this is pretty much the best time for it. It'll be that bright all night long!"

This was Very Exciting Information, guys.

"Last weekend there were meteor showers, too, which we kind of missed on account of being little kids, but maybe tonight we'll luck out and catch a few meteorites anyhow. You never know!"

"...Ow!" William scowled, rubbing his head as he was pelted with several fun-sized chocolate bars upon his arrival in the library. If only he'd been wearing his hat.

...Which wouldn't have helped much with the candy corn covering the circulation desk.

With a sigh, William brushed the candy aside- taking a moment to place some of it in his upturned hat, which he left on the desk. Hat candy, anyone?

There wasn't an Anakin in front of the class today, but there was a tiny Jedi in black from the same family tree and that was totally the same thing, right?

"Professor Skywalker couldn't be here today, so for those of you who don't already know me, I'm Jaina, and you're getting off easy today," she told them. "You're going to get to watch what's apparently an old movie about ethics and why you should have them. So I'll start that, and if you need me for anything, I'm right here."

And straight from Ethics class, Jaina went straight to meet her actual class at the Danger Shop.

"Hello again to some of you," she greeted them. "So, even if you're a loner type and don't like to work with others, there's going to come a point where you have to. You'll have to team up with someone else to get out alive, you'll find an ally where you didn't count on one, you know how it goes. Things happen. In those cases, you're going to have to deal with working with another person and watching out for them while also watching out for yourself.

"That's what we're going to do today. You'll pair up, and the Danger Shop will give you two attackers that you have to face in hand to hand. You and your partner will have to fight them off, help each other out when you need to, and get used to that whole teamwork thing."

This week, the Danger Shop might have looked oddly familiar. One again, everything had been set up to look like a creepy gothic castle with a lightening storm raging outside and a sewn-together corpse tied to a metal slab.

But there was something ... cartoon-y about the whole place. And Dr Frankenstein's lab had lacked the table full of chips, snacks, and sugary drinks set up against the wall.

"Since tomorrow is Halloween," Prof Tomoe said, "today we're going to look at a vastly overlooked mad scientist: Dr Bobby Pickett. I doubt you're familiar with his name, but you should be well acquainted with his work."

He grinned, as the scene sprang to life and music started to play.

You'll know it as soon as you hear it. )
