Korra was at the front of the classroom this morning, and she did not look at all nervous about that. As everyone arrived she handed them a coloured token and directed them to sit with everyone else with the same colour.

"Okay, everyone, Master Skywalker isn't here this morning but you've got me, so let's do this," she started. "Today's we're going to be talking about the ethics of face-punching! Uh, I mean ethics and violence." Clearly this was off to a great start.

Better ethics through face-punching! )

When the members of the Junior Achievers club got to the Danger Shop today, they'd find two important things - a table with cupcakes on it, and the Danger Shop set up to resemble a playground, filled with little kids.

"Okay, we know it might be a little too soon to be dealing with kids after the weekend, but just go with us on this one," Billy said, pointing to the cupcakes like they might help soothe any post-weetiny blues. "The island likes to make us relive our childhoods sometimes, but not everyone gets changed when that happens--" and now Billy was pointing at himself "--and being a 'grownup' around everyone else this weekend got me thinking. A lot of folks struggle with people in general not being accepting of those who have special abilities, but if we can convince kids that we're good, or at least not dangerous, then maybe that'll help in the long run."

Maybe. They could hope.

"Anyway, the challenge for today is to play with the kids and show off what you can do, or help them in some way, or just use what you can do in a positive way. If nothing else, it might be helpful the next time the island decides to mess with us."

"We're glad to see everyone is the right age this week," Jaime said, only amused because he hadn't changed at all this weekend. If he had, there would be far less japing about the subject. "Today we'll be discussing dissent from within the ranks."

“There are, of course, dozens of different reasons there might be dissent,” Steve said. “Some have a measure of validity--the ranks are becoming increasingly certain that the people in charge are insane, perhaps, or merely incompetent. Of course, that means someone has to think they can do better, which may or may not be true. And anyway, they have to succeed at mutiny, first.”

Eyepatches. Eyepatches everywhere. )

"Hi everypony!" Pinkie greeted at the top of the class. "I hope you all had fun weekends, especially if you were itty bitty teeny baby fillies and colts! Or whatever you call teeny weeny baby humans. I thought that would make a great topic for our discussion today: what sorts of elements do you think are required for baby people to grow up into effective and successful adult people? Do they need sunshine and smiles? Or just a roof over their head and food? How much should the international community dictate child-rearing policy to other nations? Do you think it's fair for a body like the United Nations to make those decisions for the whole community?"

Somepony had been doing research. Apparently, her weekend reversion to a joyless, smileless state had had more of an effect on Pinkie than she cared to admit.

Today, rather than her usual book, Sholeh had fashion magazines spread around her at the counter. For once, this wasn't any kind of mischief from the books; after the dance this past weekend, she'd decided that it maybe wouldn't hurt if she started looking at some of the clothing from this landscape. Sparkle had already added a bit to her wardrobe. Maybe she could find a few more styles she liked and do the same?

So far, however, she was not making any great progress. "I don't look like any of these models," she mumbled aloud. "If I wore that, it would fall off!"
