"Congratulations on making it to the end of the semester," Scott said. The Danger Shop looked like an ice cream shop today. Aww, how nice. Nothing unexpected or surprising could happen here! "I figured this week we'd have a treat to wrap things up before your finals start.

A wall behind them crumbled and a number of human-sized robots started to file in at a reasonable and potentially menacing pace. Yeah, Scott would consider a straight up combat scenario to be a treat.

"Figure it out, leaders!" Scott shouted above the sound of robots stomping in. "Here's a tip: special powers do work well against them." Just to prove that point, Scott lifted his glasses, firing a blast of concussive energy at one of the robots and making it explode. Strangely, that explosion didn't affect anything else around it and left no trace of the robot. Also strangely, concussive force shouldn't make anything explode like that. It's just how the scenario was programmed, okay?

Have fun with your robots!

"Hey guys. As you all are probably aware, next week is our last week of class before the summer," Dean greeted as his students filed into the art room. "Which means your final projects, the sculptures I had you start at the beginning of the semester, are due in exactly one week. Now, I don't want to be the kind of guy to rush art, and if you can't quite finish before the week is through I'm not going to hold it against you, but if you guys have more work to do on your pieces, I'd appreciate if you did that. After all, the more you get done, the more I have to mark you on."

Dean paused for a moment to pour himself a mug of coffee, black, and then offered the group an easy little grin.

"Since we've all been on our field trip to the scrapyard, you've hopefully got everything you need in order to finish your sculptures. If not, I've been spending a bit of time at the junkyard lately. Come and talk to me, and I'll see what I can dig up this week. Likewise, if there's any scrap metal that you guys need welded on to your pieces, I'm the guy to talk to about that, too. We can make an appointment to meet at the junkyard, you can tell me exactly where you need what, and I'll do all of that 'fire hazard' stuff myself, like a responsible adult or something."

A beat, and then Dean shrugged.

"Or whatever else you might need help with. In any case, this is a free-for-all class for you guys to pull together your final projects, and next week there's going to be a final, so try to remember some of the things I told you about composition and color theory this semester, or whatever. Go at it, guys."

Today in the library, there was a small statue of a dolphin constructed out of books about dolphins. Wesley wanted to be annoyed about it, but really it was kind of impressive.

Fine, library. You won this round.

There were pizza boxes set out for the student council members this week, but the table was dessert-free this time around. To say that Zoe had been a little occupied since this morning would be an understatement.

"I think Prom went very well," she said, offering up a small smile. "Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, and the decorations were...successful." They hadn't come off the walls and attacked anyone, so that constituted a success in her mind. "Sadly, with graduation in two weeks, this will probably be our last meeting. It's been a pleasure working with all of you, and I hope that those of you who aren't seniors will run for the council next year. If you have any ideas for end-of-the-year activities, I'd love to hear them. I also have a small request. The school board will be coming on Monday with some...special visitors, and I need two volunteers to take them on tours around the school and the town." Assuming the school board couldn't be convinced of what a terrible idea this was. "I'd be very grateful to anyone willing to help out."

Graduation was less than a month away. George had started ducking calls from Rube. She couldn't hide from the Post-Its, but the Post-Its were, at least, right there on her desktop, and weren't telling her to go back to Seattle yet. But that had to be coming sooner or later.

Last week she had been gung-ho for denial, but right now she just felt ... down.

There wasn't a topic this week. There was barely any OCD. Just ... you know. Apathy.
