Dave had been in the journalism room since yesterday, trying to work on this week's paper. Unfortunately, every thing he started to write was about Miley, how much he liked her, and how he thought it was time to take things to the next level.

NONE OF WHICH was making it into the paper, of course. And so eventually Dave had to admit that the paper just wasn't happening this week. And furthermore, he had to admit that coffee was only so powerful, which was why he was sitting at the front of the room with his face planted on the desk when people walked in.

When they did walk in, Dave just lifted his head slightly and said, "Sorry, paper didn't happen. Next week! Need more coffee."

For some reason, William had woken thinking his usual suit and tie ensemble was far too... restricting. Which was usually the point, actually, but today it had him opting for jeans and a t-shirt instead.

Unfortunately, a different style of clothing was not very helpful when dealing with a library insistent on showing off parts of its more... risque... collection.

Seriously, how did the women posed on those covers even bend that way? It didn't seem anatomically possible.

Tyrion was tired, vaguely hungover, and had a brain that kept going to things that were not remotely appropriate for classroom discussion.

"It's a movie day," he informed his students. "We'll be back to the normal program in our next meeting. This week, make note of how the protagonist in BattleSports uses his hobby and pluck to avert nuclear war, which I'm told would be a very bad thing. I'm here if you have questions."

"Welcome back. Hope you all had a relaxing weekend." But it was totally class-time now, and the Danger Shop was configured to look like an incredibly stereotypical high school gym. With mats spread out over most of the floor.

"For those of you who have taken other classes with me in the past, you'll know that I'm a big proponent of learning about both sides of any subject, so that's the goal for today. You can learn a lot about defending yourself by learning something about attacking people. Hopefully you'll get some insight into the thought processes of aggression, and that, in turn, will give you some tools when you're trying to defend yourself from that aggression."

"So today is going to be spent almost entirely on an activity. Everyone's going to find a partner. One of you is going to be the aggressor, and the other is going to be the defender. The aggressor's goal is to somehow knock the defender down, while the defender is going to try to avoid that fate for five minutes. After those five minutes, I'll call time and everyone will find a new partner. Or, if you're really attached to yours, you can have the same partner, but switch roles. By the end of class I want each of you to have tried both sides at least once."

"After a few rotations, when there are about fifteen minutes left in class, I'll stop everything and we'll discuss what, if anything, you learned."

With that Max pulled out a coach's whistle that looked like it sounded really annoying. And then he blew it loudly, proving that it sounded worse than it looked. "Now get to it!"
