Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Okay, so it wasn't exactly springtime in Fandom - heck, it wasn't even 2012 yet - but it was still time for the spring welcome picnic. Thankfully, the weather had taken a turn for the slightly warmer - it was sunny, and not terribly chilly as long as one kept their shirt on - but there was still a bonfire set up near the middle of the lawn, with chairs and tables scattered around it so the new arrivals would have someplace warm to sit and adjust to their new surroundings.

The buffet table had been loaded with moddable warm food and hot drinks, and the requisite stack of nametags had been set out, along with the lists of Big and Little Siblings, and rooms and roommates for the new students. Assuming the shuttle arrived with all of the students and teachers in one piece, everything was set for the picnic to begin!

The lawn in front of the school was a little bigger than it had been at picnics in the past (thank you, people with positive memories), so there was plenty of space for the blue and gold tables and chairs that got pulled out for every event. A bonfire had been lit in the middle of the lawn, for those who weren't quite prepared for the east coast in December, and there were tables set away from the crowd as well, for those who might want a more quiet place to sit.
