"Morning, class," Anakin began, striding to the front of the class. "Today we begin discussions about Aristotle, an ancient Greek philosopher, though his influence stretched into many other areas of physical science as well. He believed that justice meant giving each person their due, or what they deserve. But how do we know what people deserve? What goods and opportunities should go to which people? Aristotle’s answer is that we have to consider the telos—the end or the purpose—of the good in question. For example, say we have some nice flutes. Who should get them? According to Aristotle, it’s not the rich person, since playing flutes has nothing to do with money. Nor is it the person who will be made most happy, since making good music is different than being happy. The purpose of a flute is to be played, and to be played well. So, Aristotle thinks, the flutes should go to the best flute players. Do you agree?"

“Honor,” Max began without preamble. “Honor’s a tricky thing. And it can make people do things that seem odd, or stupid, or outright crazy.” Often did, in fact. “Honor isn’t about being rational, really, it’s about holding to a set of beliefs about how people should behave, even when behaving another way might be easier. And the same thing is true in fighting.”

There are plenty of examples of honorable behavior... )

Max was going to enjoy the show... Maybe he should have brought popcorn.

It had been over a week, and Rinoa hadn't heard back from her father. Was he stalling on purpose just to drive her crazy? Had he hit some kind of a snag? Was there a full-scale revolution in Timber and no one had bothered to tell her?

Was he not planning on updating her until there was actual news, so she was making herself a wreck for nothing?

Okay, yeah, it was probably that one. Awesome.

Rinoa busied herself with organizing the shelves today. She was too restless to read. Ugh, she hated being too restless to read. That was totally the worst.

When the students entered into the danger shop today they would notice that it had been transformed into a beauty shop.

However instead of the usual insane Jamie greeting them with an impossible task... they would find a bunch of unconscious Jamies tied down onto those insanely uncomfortable chairs you have to sit in while getting your hair cut.

They would also find all the beauty supplies you might find in a beauty salon. Makeup. Hair dye. Haircutting supplies.

They would also probably see a sign on the entrance to the salon which read:

Today's Special:
REVENGE ON YOUR TEACHER

No hitting. You'll just make more of him.

They would probably also notice a bunch of faculty members watching the whole process with a smug look on their faces.
