Notices had been handwavily sent out to all the students, informing them to dress for a day at the beach, which probably meant that no one was surprised to find the Danger Shop set up as an idyllic beach scene. Off to the right, burgers and hot dogs and ears of corn were sizzling on a grill. Next to the grill sat an open cooler, filled with ice and soda and snacks. Several large beach umbrellas offered shade to brightly colored towels leading off to the left, where a beach volleyball net was set up. There were even a few kayaks pulled up out of the water in case anyone wanted to go for a quick ride. There were also several baskets of flip-flops and suntan lotions, just in case anyone was worried about getting burned.

“Hey,” Cindy said with a wave, relaxing in a portable hammock. Peeking over the tops of her sunglasses, she gave the students a smile. “Are you glad not to be a pony anymore?”

“I know I sure as hell am,” Reno, who was clad in a pair of black swim trunks with happy yellow chocobos all over them, stated with a roll of his eyes. “If I had to come to this class as a little friggin’ horse, I’d have set you all up with little maps of the island an’ got you to spend classtime kickin’ at ‘em with your hind legs, yo.” Reno smirked, and then clasped his hands behind his head. “Either way, we’re stuck in London, and it’s been lookin’ like it’s tryin’ to compete with Japan for most rainy days on record since summer started, so we get a beach party today, yo. I know, I know, how are you ever gonna cope? I say deal, kids. Deal.”

Such a difficult request.

“We have extra sunglasses if you’re worried about getting blinded from the glare coming off of Reno’s legs,” Cindy added with a laugh. She gestured towards the rest of the beach, set up for their enjoyment. “So, yeah. Hang out, relax, enjoy a real summer day while enjoying the benefits of opposable thumbs. That batch of burgers should be about done, too, if anybody’s hungry.” She leaned back, picking up a novel and an umbrella’d drink. “We’re getting kicked out of here at the end of class, so better enjoy yourself while you can.”

Today's class room.... was a normal classroom today. Go figure.

"Hey guys," Columbus said with a sheepish look on his face. "So apparently most of everyone turned into a pony the other day. So to give you a break I'm just going to keep today's class simple:

Double-Knot your Shoes

"Oh sure. Seems simple, right? I mean why bother? Well, let's just say that an untied shoelace could lead to you being a nice little snag for a zombie horde. So double knot. It could save your life. That being said? Your assignment today is to double knot your shoes

The classroom was set up the same way as last week, complete with table of snacks, streamers, and balloons. Pinkie Pie was nowhere in sight as the students filed in. Once everyone seemed to have arrived, the lights dimmed, and a spotlight lit up the center of the semi-circle of chairs.

Pinkie had arrived.

She stood tall on all four hooves in the center of the spotlight, grinning up at the ceiling, wearing a dress reminiscent of the late 19th century frontier. And fishnets. She posed dramatically for a moment, before launching into her singing telegram number.

lyrics under here )

She finished with a flourish and paused for applause.

"There's loads of ways to invite ponies to a party," she said, once she felt she'd paused for an appropriate amount of time. "Songs are always fun and really catch a pony's attention, but it can get real tiring real fast if you're inviting more than a few people. That's where paper invitations come in!" She pulled a basket from behind the teacher's desk, full of envelopes each sealed with real sealing wax. "If you deliver them yourself, you still get to see that look of joy when your guests find out they get to come to a super-fun party! What are some other ways to spread the party word? How do you make all of your guests feel special? Get together and talk about it, and while you're at it, you can make some invitations of your own!" She set the basket down in the middle of the floor, along with a stack of fancy parchment, some quills and ink jars, candles, and sealing wax.

Because nothing said party like hot wax.
