"Ah, little ducklings ♥," Shunsui smiled as he bestowed the usual drinks to his students and settled in for this week's class, "welcome back ♥. Today, we talk of the craft itself, more specifically how people create their stories ♥. There are two ways...well, two main ways, and then a thousand little variations in between, but today we'll talk about the different points of the spectrum ♥.

"Some people find it easiest to just...make things up as they go along ♥. They have a general idea when they plop down in front of a notebook or typewriter or computer, get things started, and then, as if taking a journey through the story themselves, let their imaginations lead them ♥. Some writers are very good at this, of making things up on the spot ♥.

"Other writers much prefer to plan things out ahead of time ♥. Usually, this is done with an outline, that covers the bases on characters, main points of action, order of events, etc, etc, etc ♥. These can be general and vague, or they can be extremely detailed, breaking things down by chapters and working almost as a guide for the author as they turn that outline into something more like a story ♥.

"Today, we'll be trying both ♥. I have a template of a very general outline; I'd like you each to fill one out and give it a try ♥. Feel free to expand on it in a more detailed breakdown as I mentioned ♥.

"But first, for the making things up as you go along angle, we will be playing a little game ♥. It is simple enough; one person will give a few lines, a few sentences, of a story ♥. Then, the next person will offer his or her contribution ♥. Who knows where it will end, but it's sure to be fun and a good exercise in thinking creatively on your feet...even if we're sitting down ♥.

"Any questions before we begin ♥?"

Deadpool wasn't pink and didn't have feathers. It was a damn good day for him.

Which meant it was a damn good day for the students in his class. Or not. Let's go with not in this particular instance. "Hello again, true believers," Deadpool said. "Welcome back to class where we're all back to being ourselves and no one did anything stupid this weekend. Right, kids? Riiiiiight?"

Just say yes and move on.

"Today we're gonna talk about diet and finicky eaters. Because kids are complete freakin' brats and decide they like something one day and the next day it's the grossest goddamn thing in the whole world. Or, you know, you don't tell 'em what's in something and then they love it. But when you tell 'em what's in it, they hate it and your face for making them eat something so horrible."

A beat.

"Like onions. Goddamn onions."

That meant everyone got a nice little worksheet Deadpool had totally just stolen online to use. Because he was goddamn lazy, got it?

"Now, we got a bowl full of spinach salad and a pile of cheeseburgers for you all to eat while you look over this crap. Which will you be? The annoying kid who won't eat any veggies or the annoying kid who will only eat fast food? See? See what I did there?"

Yes, he thought he was clever.

Hook was smug, today. Not that he wasn't smug every day, but it was an extra smug day for him. Today the class met in a secluded spot of the preserve, with Hook looking rather jaunty without his luxurious coat.

"Today we ask the important question: When are you willing to sacrifice others for your own gain?" Hook said, smiling as he stood at the base of a tree.

Cut for ridiculous )

Alexander had put aside his regular research for today, curious about the events of the weekend. He remembered being the Beast and the strange feelings that moved him, as if he was cursed, and that made Alexander intensely curious. He'd collected a few books on myths and curses, figuring even if he didn't find what he was looking for, it was all still quite interesting, and perhaps something about the Land of the Green Isles might show up in one of them. One never knew.

And finally, he found at least something: A prince known for being incredibly vain and selfish one day encounters a fairy, who turned him into a hideous beast after he refused to let her in from the rain, and that only by finding true love, despite his ugliness, could he break the curse.

"Zounds!" said Alexander, intrigued, and he kept reading. Somehow, he had a feeling this would be valuable information for later.

"I know, last week was weird or disgusting, but at least a lot of you got to ride an elephant," Dick said to start off class. "This week, we're going with something a little simpler in concept, but much harder in execution. And I'm not even going to talk about how it ties into life because that should be pretty obvious."

"This week, we're talking about juggling," Dick said, picking a red colored balls off the ground, leaving a blue ball and a yellow ball by his feet. "There are two keys to juggling. First is hand eye coordination. You throw a ball in the air so that it's level with your eyes and then make sure you know where it's going to land." The red ball flew in an arc from his right hand to his left. He tossed the ball quickly back to his right hand and threw it in another arc toward his left hand. "And then you do it again, and again, and you keep on doing it until you know exactly how to get the ball from one hand to the other without having to look."

Yes, Dick's talking about balls. One of them is a blue ball. DEAL WITH IT. )
