Summer Fitness and Survival, Monday, Period Four

Today the Danger Shop was set up to look like the picturesque Welsh mountain ranges Bond hadn't inflicted on a class in some time. A small table was set up near where Bond was standing, with maps and compasses lying on it.

"The art of orienteering combines both fitness as well as several skills that lend themselves to survival, mostly in the area of navigation," he began once the class had finished arriving. Bond then went on to give a short explanation of the the hows and whys of orienteering for a while before gesturing towards the table. "I've set up several different courses and there are maps for each of them on the table, so you can choose to work together or by yourself for the rest of the class."

"Yo, Rookies!" Still not losers! Apparently Reno thought highly of one or two of you! Don't let it go to your heads. "Today, I'm gonna discuss one of my favorite pastimes while I'm standin' around, waitin' for shit to happen. You turn to somebody, an' you grin', and you say, 'So? Who do you like?'"

Reno did this more often than you'd think. Sadly.

Your African Expedition Adventure!, Tuesday, Period Four [ 05/31 ].

Jane's original intention for today's class was water procurement, but, to be quite honest, she was getting a little sick of water and rain. And she was British, here, people. So, in defiance of the continual downpour, she made sure that her simulation of the jungle today called for lots of sunshine and beautiful weather. Even if it was a bit hot. It was a jungle, after all.

( Hard to imagine anyone going hungry with all this talky meat. )

Finally, Jane set the chalk down and turned to her students. "So I'm sure you could all figure out that today's activity will be to find yourself some food! Your packs include a small mess kit and a source of heat, should you want to actually consume your food. I highly recommend it; being an adventurer is about being adventurous, after all, but if you'd like to just practise catching your food for now, that is fine as well. I'd like you all to locate several different bugs, a few plants you think may be edible, and at least put together a snare for a mammal, bird, or fish. Do what you can to catch them, but it's alright if you don't. Very rarely does one manage to do so in the span of time we have allotted for class.

"If there are no questions, then let us grab our hats and our packs and let's get going, shall we?"

Try Not to Die!! [Tuesday, May 31]

Anakin realized that he was teaching a class called "Try Not to Die" but this morning he wasn't feeling either the exclamation points or the need to put the students into even slightly dangerous situations.

Blame three days of watching the Hunger Games for that. He sent out handwavy messages for the students to meet him at the Danger Shop instead of on the causeway, and the environment that greeted the students was decidedly...chocolatey. The sun was shining brightly overhead, complete with the sorts of fluffy clouds you only found in movies or children's drawings.

"Welcome to my version of a land made of candy," he said. "Try not to get to distracted by how everything is edible--you still have several tasks to complete." With that, he gestured toward the clue box and stepped out of the way.

Library, Tuesday

The weather outside was starting to get to Rinoa. The blackened cityscape ... the destroyed, barren land ... all the more reason to stay inside, curled up with a good book.

All the same, she couldn't quite lose herself in anything today. It seemed to be a good day for shelving, then.

The library was open.
