The class was meeting in the Danger Shop today and Fraser was standing at the front of the room, arms crossed behind his back. He smiled as each person entered.

"Good morning and welcome back," he said, nodding. "I hope you all had a relaxing Spring Break and I hope you're all ready to get back into classes because we're not easing back into it."

Fraser was sure the students were thrilled with that. Really. "Today, we're going to be running an obstacle course. It's not just any obstacle course though. It's one of the tougher, longer, and more stamina pulling obstacle courses you'll ever run."

Fraser got the sim going to reveal said obstacle course. They were in the middle of a field and the course was the only thing dominating it. The students would be able to see two large walls with ropes dangling that had to be climbed, chicken wire raised off the ground above mud that they had to crawl under, tires that they had to jump through, stairs that they had to climb, bars that they had to swing across, several dummies that they had to shoulder bump and run by, a rope swing suspended above the ground that they had to swing across and more.

Fraser turned back to the group and said, "It's pretty self explanatory, isn't it? Shall we get started? I think we shall."

Library, Wednesday [3/2]

Gabrielle had only arrived back in Fandom yesterday morning, and had kept to herself pretty much since then. She could, she thought as she went about her morning library tasks, spin the events of her break week as spending time at a spa (because there were random hot tubs in her ancient Greece, so random spas wouldn't be weird either, obviously), and it wouldn't be that far off from the truth. That was, after all, a general use of the Amazons' sweat hut -- you know, when it wasn't being hogged by someone taking advantage of her status as queen to disproportionately emo in a palm-branch-flagellation way.

. . . which she wouldn't mention. Call it a traditional botanical cleansing treatment, though, she might do that; it was creative embellishment, and there was always room for improvement on that technique. (It wasn't lying! Not exactly.)

That had been last week, though. This week there were classes and books to tend to, and in their own way they were equally therapeutic.

Even if the Ina Garten cookbook that kept making its way back to the desk was weirding her out.

Today there was a television at the front of the class and no teacher. Which, god help us all, meant it was up to Tony to teach home ec.

Movie day it was.

"Hi," Tony said, fiddling with the laptop he'd hooked up to the TV. "Mr. Rogers isn't here today, so we're going to watch a movie." With a guy in it that looked suspiciously like Ben Skywalker. Hmmm. "So, just enjoy The Soother."

"Telekinesis."

The group had been summoned to the Danger Shop this week, though it didn't appear to be much of anything - just a very large room with no visible exits beyond the way they'd gotten in.

"It's a field of psionics that covers many possible abilities and strategies," she continued. "With the use of telekinesis, you can lift objects--" she hovered a pen up into the air without even lifting a finger, "Move them--" With an idle gesture of her hand, the pen went soaring at the wall. It bounced off and back towards her. "Repel them--" An invisible shield came into being with another flick of her arm, and the pen bounced harmlessly off it.

In that moment, anyone sensitive to it might have picked up on the sheer waves of power coming off Kerrigan; a second later her shields had covered the worst of it again.

She halted the pen's movements, then peeled every individual part off it with a thought. "And, of course, use subtle manipulation. Essentially, telekinesis is the ability to manipulate the physical world through the mental. Where I'm from, it's a very rare talent among human beings. It takes... a great deal of power."

The pen popped back together, and she placed it down on the table. "There have been mechanical attempts to reproduce it, but we'll go into that later," she said. "Today is meant to send you all thinking about the possibilities, if you don't possess it yourself, and to experiment -- in a safe environment -- with your powers if you do. The Danger Shop has been programmed to simulate telekinetic abilities as soon as I say the word. If you don't have powers, you can then manipulate the world around you with physical cues. Reaching, moving your hands, that kind of thing. Crude, but for those of you who are ill-equipped, the only way you can have even an inkling of how this works, and the complex skills it takes to make it work."

She walked towards the wall panel and pressed her hand to it. The empty room filled up with random objects, though nothing with sharp edges. She leaned against the wall.

"You have thirty minutes. We'll talk about your findings at the end of the class."

"Last time we met, I gave everyone cameras," Ben said with a quick grin around the room. "Since then we all got a chance to go on vacation, or at least take a break from classes. Let's see the pictures you took."

That's right, everyone! It's time for the dreaded slide show portion after vacations! In Ben's case, via his converted and heavily modified laptop.

"This was the first night in Hawaii--" he began.

Run. Run away.
