There was a large television set up at the front of the room today and Fraser had brought in several trays of baked goods.

"It's the day before a long weekend so I didn't want to try and teach a lesson when I know your minds are probably elsewhere. Thus, we're going to watch a movie."

With that, Fraser turned the television on and got the movie running. While it queued up, he said, "It's applicable to the class so make sure you watch to see what you recognize. Enjoy the movie and please help yourself to some baked goods."

Fraser smiled and took a seat, settling in to watch the movie himself.

When the students arrived in their classroom, they would each find a note on their desk.  Each note read the same thing.

Dear Class,

By now you will have hopefully learned something that could be applicable to your home situation. Seeing as though many of you will be returning there this week due to the holiday weekend, discuss amongst your groups what you feel you could take from this class to use at home. Be prepared for your final non-exam class next week.

Love, Aly

Aly was no where to be immediately seen - though it was an interesting question if she were around and watching or not.

Class today met in the Danger Shop, which was programmed to look like a dorm common room, filled with couches and fluffy chairs, and a HUGE television set.

"Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival," Ghanima began, once the students had all found seats, "traditionally celebrated as a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest, and while it may have been religious in origin, Thanksgiving is now primarily identified as a secular holiday."

A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all the other virtues. ~Cicero )

"Now, I'm not going to feed you an entire turkey today, as those of you staying here for the holiday will be fed by the Student Council. However, I do have pumkin pie cupcakes to snack on while we watch a movie."

It was Thanksgiving Day. It was time for parades, football and food. Currently, Alex was leaning against one of the walls in the kitchen, watching the catering company set up for dinner. There was a shitload of food and his stomach growled just watching.

It was good to be president. He got to delegate everything.

When one of the caterers stepped forward and thrust a plastic wrapped garment bag in his hand, Alex frowned.

"What?"

"Outfits for the dinner," the caterer said. "The contract states that we make and you serve the food. No fulfillment of the contract, no food."

Confused, Alex unzipped the bag and peeked inside. The costume was not cool at all.

"Are you serious?" Alex asked, glaring. "No way!"

"No costumes," the caterer said, already signaling his workers to get ready to package the food up, "no food."

Alex continued glaring at the caterer and the costume. He hated his life.

[OCD is up and this is posted early for SP, of course!]

Upon entering the Danger Shop, the students found themselves on the side of a mountain. They weren't dangling or anything like that. There was a perfectly good landing to fit them all and a perfectly good (if steep) path leading down to the village below and the water beyond that. Everything was grand as it could be, except for the fact that the mountain had smoke wafting up from its top.

The Doctor waited for the door to close behind the last of them. The ground rumbled underneath their feet. He gave them a look that spelled out their doom, namely a 'this is going to be fuuuuun' smile. Turning to look up at the mountain, he pointed out the smoke. "Volcano. Don't die. Have fun!"

The rumbling happened again and the top of the volcano exploded into life, sending burning rocks and a spray of lava, smoke and ash into the air.

With that, he broke into a trot down the steep mountain path. Anyone not wanting to deal with lava would have been wise to follow.
