Fraser's happiness at not feeling like he did last week was never more present than when in class. His edgy tension hadn't made for a good teacher and that bothered him. Today, he was going to make up for it and that meant the Danger Shop.

This Wednesday much better than last Wednesday.  Or at least the honesty spell had worn off and there wasn't going to be another fight in Aly's class so she was assuming this was a much better day.  Also she had coffee, and no, she wasn't sharing.

"Morning, everyone," she said once the class was assembled.  "I'm guessing you're probably all in better moods than last week?  If not, sorry, we're not fighting anything today.  Instead we're going to talk about conflict resolution."

Dan was spending his shift making arrangements to go home during Thanksgiving. Which meant being on his laptop trying to find the cheapest train and/or portalocity tickets home. Being poor sucked so hard.

Today's portal would take students to New York City. Specifically, to the ferry that would take them out and about for the day.

"We'll be spending an hour on Ellis Island, and then taking the ferry over to the Statue of Liberty," Ghanima said. "These two places have had a large impact on the cultural fabric of the United States."

The students were greeted by a large open arena that may or may not have looked like a fully intact Roman Colosseum only with a completely flat and open centre. Something that was definitely not Roman was the Doctor, the remote control in his hand and the oversized (twice the size of a human) robot spider.

"Hello!" the Doctor said, looking far too happy about his toy. "Arachnids this week. Eight legs, definitely not insects since those have six legs but you could still call them bugs since that's all encompassing. No antennae or wings, the body is organised into the cephalothorax and the abdomen and the former is usually covered by an unsegmented carapace. All spiders are arachnids, but not all arachnids are spiders. You have scorpions, mites, ticks and assorted others that you can research in your own time. Anyone want to play with the robot spiders?" he asked, finally taking a moment to breathe. "There's a remote control for each of you on the table over there. You can figure out which one is yours. The legs on these spiders, though not non-robotic ones, are good for destroying other robot spiders. Last robot spider standing wins a chocolate bar."

His spider then skittered off to start attacking the others. Someone hadn't had his monthly destruction of property fix.
