Loki didn't have any guests coming but he knew that some of the students did and if he could get out of teaching one day so he could go hole up in his fucking apartment, he was gonna take it.

"So, big event this weekend, right?" Loki guessed, arms crossed while he leaned against the desk. "I'm not even gonna bother with trying to teach you today. There's too much shit going on and you've got enough to deal with."

Loki had such a big heart.

"And really, I don't know if anyone can be a badass when faced with a relative or a guest or a guardian or what the fuck ever. You're going to have some slip ups, I'm fucking sure. So, take this class to sit and prepare or sit and hide or some other shit. No movie, no nothing like that. You're gonna have to go face the weekend soon enough. Have fucking fun. I'll be playing video games all weekend."

On reaching the classroom, the students would find a note pasted up on the door in large but jagged script with the simple message: "MEET IN DANGER SHOP." If they were any sort of intelligent, they would be able to figure out that that meant there'd be no lecture today, and, if they were any sort of fun, they'd be immediately excited about that. If not, Kūkaku was pretty sure she was wasting her time.

"Guess what today is!" she said the moment they were collected in the usual glorious scene filled with all sorts of things to blow up and a great big black night sky. "No, not the start of your stupid Parent's Weekend, ever better. It's my damn birthday today! So we're gonna celebrate in Shiba style, and you all're gonna wish me a happy birthday by showin' me what you've learned so far and impressing me with some good explosions and fireworks. Especially fireworks, but, if you prefer, there's plenty of stuff to blow up here. So let's get to it. Impress me. And I may have brought cake when you're done."

When the students came into the room, they would see Ben and Anakin talking quietly with an older blond man who resembled them both rather closely.

People, meet Luke. Luke, people. )

"Good morning," Steve said. "I know it's Parents' Weekend and many of you have to finish cleaning your rooms or turning them into visitor-proof forts, so I won't keep you long. We're going to talk about the War of 1812, sort of in overview. The War of 1812 was fought between the British and America, because the British didn't quite get the memo about independence the first time around and continued to impress American sailors into their navy, impose trade restrictions, and do their best to prevent America from expanding. After some...shall we say, reversals of fortune, including the British marching on and burning the American capitol at Washington, D.C., the Americans were victorious. The war, which ultimately America won, resulted in the solidification of the population as 'American,' since some people had held out some loyalty to Britain up to that point, but once the British showed up and started burning their cities, that went out the window. Not a lot of territory changed hands--in America, at least, the war had more impact on Canada--but it did firmly establish that America wasn't going back to British rule and ushered in an era of more cordial relations between the two nations. Now, no discussion question today. Go get ready for your parents. Dismissed."

So, really, George had considered just sitting in the back the whole time and not saying anything, so that maybe everyone would glare at each other and then leave. Except she'd been at that stupid table at the fucking club fair, so people would know it was 'her' club and expect her to do something.

Which, so what? George was great at disappointing people who had unrealistic expectations. It was practically a hobby.

... and yes, expecting her to give a shit, that was a seriously unrealistic expectation.

This was awkward. Fine.

"So, you're here," she said. "I don't know why you're here. This club was just a stupid joke. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it. I guess you can ... ugh, we should do that stupid thing where people introduce themselves but I don't even give a shit. Whatever."

See? Disappointment achieved. It was their own damn fault for signing up for Apathy Club.
