On this Very Special Monday, the Danger Shop had been transformed into a massive Ikea store, complete with two levels and a cafe. Students would enter through the locker rooms first, ensuring they were properly attired for the day's event before getting started.

Ronon greeted them with a nod, tossing an allen wrench in the air while he waited for the last students to assemble. "So, you all know Ikea - that island Fandom's sleeping with or whatever. And you prolly know it's holiday shopping season. Somethin' I didn't know till I showed up at the store on Friday. As much as I really don't care about your weird holidays, shopping seems to be an important and dangerous part of them. Today your workout's gonna be getting through the crowds and buying everything on your list." Ronon paused to hand out a sort of scavenger hunt-style shopping list to all the students. On it, they would find a variety of moddable basic household items, fake plants, lighting fixtures, and some boxed shelving units that weighed in excess of 80lbs each and all the acoutrements they required. Like those things that held up the books.

"Don't get cocky, the people are here to make it hard for you to pass them, and are likely to want anything you have. You have twenty minutes to gather your items and make it to the checkout." He was feeling giving by not making them check out, bag their items, or strap anything to the roof of a compact car in the parking deck. "Don't matter if you finish or not, we're all watching Jingle All the Way in the auditorium in twenty-two minutes. Let's go!"

The long weekend was over and Loki was back in the classroom. He'd had a thought of making the students watch another movie but thought that'd be like a fucking cop out after doing it last week. So, he'd actually come up with some things to do like the good fucking teacher that he was.

"Welcome back. If you had a good holiday, good for you. If you didn't, buy yourself a hooker and make it better," he said crudely, grinning. "For today, we're going to ease back into it. Today, we're going to be talking about trolls. When you think of trolls, what generally comes to mind? Really short and fucking ugly creatures, right? Well, that's pretty much what they are but there's a little more to them. They're mean fuckers who proved that by attacking the island a few years back. Yeah, imagine that, little ugly fuckers attacking the island and almost winning. Wouldn't have been something to brag about, right?"

Loki was glad he hadn't been here for that yet. Trolls were gross and they smelled and just ew.

"There are different types of trolls and that's what I want you to take a look at today," Loki continued. "While the general idea of trolls being ugly little guys is a good one, they aren't always like that. So, take a look at some of the information on your handout and, for today's activity, come up with a summary for a fairy tale in which the troll is a good guy. Sound okay? Go to it."

"In religion, a prophet is a person who has been contacted by, or has encountered, the supernatural or the divine, and serves as an intermediary with humanity, delivering this newfound knowledge from the supernatural entity to other humans. The message that the prophet conveys is called a prophecy," Ghanima began. "Claims of prophets have existed in many cultures through history, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, the Sybilline and Delphic Oracles practices in Ancient Greece, Zoroaster, the Völuspá in Old Norse, and many others. Traditionally, prophets are regarded as having a role in society that promotes change due to their messages and actions."

"And where prophecy walks, the concept of destiny is not far behind. Destiny refers to a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the universe."

"Some believe that divine guidence may be ascertained by divination. In the belief systems of many cultures, one's destiny can only be learned about through a shaman, babalawo, prophet, sibyl, saint or seer. In the Shang dynasty in China, turtle bones were thrown ages before the I Ching was codified. Arrows were tossed to read destiny, from Thrace to pagan Mecca. In Yoruba traditional religion, the Ifá oracle is consulted via a string of sixteen cowries or oil-palm nuts whose pattern when thrown on to a wooden tray represents the 256 possible combinations whose named "chapters" are recited and verses interpreted for the client by the babalawo. Every society has their own way of fortelling a future, from worm entrails to crystal balls. My empire put its fate in the hands of a family that can walk the veils of time, forward and back, to see what lies beyond, and now they're stuck with the future that the Mahdi chose. Oracles can be a tricky bunch, and you must always assume that they may have a hidden agenda of their own."

Class met in the Danger Shop today, and there was an array of logs stripped of their bark, gunpowder, and woodworking equipment set up at one end, with blast shields lined up near the middle of the room. Tyler glanced up from his notes as the class assembled.

"Morning," he said. "This is a things-that-go-boom week. There's an old Hungarian legend that a city called Paks defended itself during a siege by chopping down a cherry tree and making a cannon overnight. The cannon worked until it blew up and took the town with it. Now, I'm not a carpenter, but I see a couple problems with that story." A beat. "Which is why we're retesting it. We did this over the summer; a couple of people got working cannons out of it."

"You should just have time to make and test a cannon in class if you work in small groups; the wood and woodworking tools are over there. I'm handing out a sheet of specific directions, but basically you want to drill a hole through the log, add a metal tube with gunpowder in it and a fuse, load a cannonball, light the rope, stand back behind the blast shields, and -- in theory -- boom." He spread his fingers to demonstrate the "boom."

"Please wear safety gear, please don't be stupid. This is Danger Shop so you can't get hurt, but that doesn't make it playtime."

"Questions?"

The classroom didn't hold a hot super-spy today. Just a hot guardian and hot future father of the leader of the Resistance. Hopefully that made up for the lack of Bond.

Rose leaned against the desk at the front of the room. "So, yeah, obviously Mr. Bond isn't here today. I guess he had too much turkey or something and is still sleeping it off." The 'or something' was probably the more accurate part.

Kyle nodded solemnly at the mention of the turkey. He'd succumbed to the post-turkey nap, not realizing how strong the urge to nap afterwards really was. "We're covering instead. Let's go around the class and everyone say one thing you've learned about sex so far that you didn't learn from this class."

There was a smirk of amusement at that, and Rose pushed herself up so she was sitting on the desk instead. "You should go first, Kyle."

He glanced sidewards at her, as if sending a thanks he didn't really mean. "Okay, I'll go first." Saying it himself almost made it seem like it was his own idea. "Okay. Everyone seems obsessed with it, especially on TV."

"Including you?" she asked sweetly. She was a mean, mean friend.

"Including you," he replied, then nodded at the first person to his left. "Your turn."
