"Today we will begin the most important part of your costumes!" Edna announced as she wheeled in a hanging rack full of spandex body suits. Oh, you lucky people, you. (Don't ask how that last one snuck in there. It had been a Very Terrible Costume Concept.) "Measurements!"

She ignored any horrified looks or attempts to hide under tables. "Ms. Davis, my assistant," she nodded at Brooke, "and I will be measuring you so that the costumes you create for yourselves will fit! While you are waiting, come up with two preliminary concepts for your ensemble--include your logo from last week on one of them--and then ask a fellow student to critique!"

She made shooing motions. "Go! Scatter! Create!" She pointed at one student at random. "Except you. You get to wear Spandex first, darling."

Miss Bennet was followed into class by a small trail of tiny Canadian moose. They were adorable and wobbly, and Miss Bennet had to resist the urge to cuddle them. That would not be terribly proper, she reminded herself.

Euphemisms and Taboos (and Mooses) )

One of the moose was investigating Miss Bennet's feet, and she couldn't help laughing. "After that, I will be taking my small guests to lunch, lest they eat my shoes. Shall we begin?"

Not just yet, it would seem; first, there was a knock at the door.

As her students walked in, Abby Irene made a point of plopping her rather heavy blue carpet bag on her desk.

"This," she told them, "is my kit bag. It has all of my tools, quite a few different packets of ingredients for certain spells, and a number of other things which I need for my trade. I bring this wherever I go, including here as I'm sure some of you have noticed, and there isn't a time I can think of when I am without it in a professional capacity."

She stepped in front of it and leaned on the desk.

"But situations don't always present themselves when one is prepared and sometimes it has been necessary to do spellwork with the very minimum of materials. The items I'll be using for those which I generaly use for a working, but I should hope that with some thought, you should be able to apply the same principles to your own methods."

Claudia popped into the library, trailed by a little parade of tiny moose, after her fashion workshop was over.

"You are just the cutest things ever!" she squealed at them. "Stay here. You need accessories."

And that was why Claudia was behind the desk turning her backpack into wee ponchos for her little moose friends.

Still yawning, Buffy and her coffee took a seat at the desk, waiting to wake up fully before doing any actual work.

After a moment she decided she was bored.

A moment after that, she was calling, "Anything tiny and mooselike still around to entertain me?"

Nothing was. Woe.

Again, class met in the Danger Shop, for the various important reasons. It again looked more like a discotheque with multicolored light up floors and ceiling, with changing rooms equipped with full length mirrors on three sides.

Vince's outfit du jour involved a fur vest, over a bare chest. A cravat with leopard print pattern, and black leather pants. His boots had big furry tops, as well.

Oh, and he had leather cuffs, with frilly lace underneath. That was probably the weirdest part.

"Retro!" he exclaimed, to start the day. "There's always fun in revisiting trends of the past. Sometimes, being on the cutting edge of the future means recreating things that have already happened. I've done it all. And as you can see today, Retro can go all the way back to the beginning."

"Retro, as a concept, is about taking what was great, and making it your own. If you apply last week's principles, you could walk around in a codpiece, legwarmers, and a sombrero and pull it off. Now, I'm no history buff, but the basic point I'm making is... it doesn't matter when something was fashionable. If you have the strength of charisma, It's fashionable when you wear it."

"So today, the New Style is about going way back, like me. Part Caveman Chic, part Cocktail Party Sleek. Go wild, all of you. If anyone needs help as the odd kid out, come to me. Otherwise, have fun with each other, okay?"

Once again Max showed up early just so he could prop his feet up on his desk, put on his sunglasses, and pretend to be napping. He was idly wondering how long it would take before someone figure out it was all an act. He was also idly wondering how long it would be before he was actually sleeping since this class met way too early in the morning for his taste.

This time, though, he sat up just as class was scheduled to begin. "Welcome back to slacking. For those who slept through it last week, I'm not going to introduce myself again, so learn one of the first tricks of a good slacker and make friends with someone who actually pays attention." He flashed a look at Marco assuming he was there.

"Being the perceptive sort of person that I am, I noticed last week that some of you seemed unconvinced of the usefulness of proper slacking. Today's exercise is intended to cure you of that innocent misconception." The grin that slipped across his face probably wasn't very comforting.

"You might have noticed the four boxes I have here," he waved at his desk. "Each one contains a fascinating item called a 'jig-saw puzzle'. You will organize yourselves into four groups and each group will select a puzzle to work on. You may leave as soon as you are finished. I, as your ever-helpful teacher in these matters, will move between the groups and provide helpful instructions that will assist you in accomplishing your task. If you finish early, then you're welcome to leave early, or join another group, or take a nap. If your group fails to complete the puzzle before the end of the period, make sure you see me afterward. You'll be getting some extra homework."

"Go ahead and select your groups. I'll be up here if you have any questions."
