It was Wednesday which meant Gavin was out at the flight shed, snacks and drinks set up, waiting for the rest of the club members to arrive so they could get started. Once everyone had filed in, he started talking.

"Afternoon, guys," he said, just a little on the tense side. Look. Things weren't working. He was allowed. "I had other plans for today but I lost the kriffing plans and they weren't ready anyway. So, today, we're going to fly weird stuff. Yes, weird stuff. Next week, though, we're going to be doing something different. One of our fellow club members," he said with a nod to Anemone, "showed me some blueprints for something new we're going to try out. I haven't had a chance to get Master Skywalker to set it up in the sim's database which is why we're not doing them today. So, today, just...go have fun and eat a lot of food. Or something."

Cranky, cranky.

"Go!"

Cranky.

After spending the previous evening drinking, getting into a fight, having quality time in jail, and finding out that Chuck Bass was actually kind of human, Sam was hoping for a quiet day in the library that would be kind to his mild hangover. He was never, ever drinking on a Tuesday night again. Probably.

Today, Captain Hammer was not quite as moody as last week, but he was still Not In a Good Place.

Part of it, admittedly, was that he was hungover.

"Class, today we will watch a movie. A movie, I might note, completely devoid of sexual tension or hot women for no reason at all." He glared slightly.

Without any further ado, he set up the AV stuff and got everything working on his third attempt so they could watch the film.

[sincere apologies for the utterly lame class. I had a super-hectic morning today and it completely drove any and all class ideas out of my head.]

"All right," began Mohinder. "Starting with a internally functional human body only takes us so far. Survival and much else depends on responding to what we perceive. For that the human body is reliant on a combination of, let's say, seven senses in order to respond to external stimuli."

"Sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch, balance and proprioception," Mohinder said, passing out papers. "Of course, these aren't complete - in humans it leaves the perception of heat and pain and outside the species the ability to detect electric or magnetic fields or the echolocation of a bat."

"Sight," he said, opening up a model and naming the parts. "Is the interpreted perception of a reversed image collected by rods and cones here. Not all eyes are the equal. Long and short-sightedness are fairly common defects, colourblindness less so and colour based synesthesia, or perception of sounds or letters as inherently chromatic, are very rare."

"Now, if you'll cover each eye in turn, there are a few sight tests to try out," finished Mohinder pointing out the charts.

[OCD up, have at!]

"Making it quick and easy this week. Horoscopes are crap, presented by charlatans, crazy people, Toby, and people who just have nothing better to do," Jonah said. "Astrologists claim to give predictions for people based on their birthdays. It's broken up into twelve signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. It doesn't matter what they are or where they fall because it's all crap."

"So, to make all of our lives easier, just dive right in and tell everyone in the world what their futures are based on when they were born. And throw out some lucky numbers while you're at it. Get to work!"

[OOC: Oh, and if any of the tired, sexless students want to cause a disruption and get a detention, just let me know. :D ]
