This wasn't the gym.

Apollo had been on his way to the gymnasium, intent on pumping iron and keeping up his strict training regime so he could be in tip top shape for his next fight.

But this wasn't the gym.

This was a place filled with books and it was quiet and Apollo didn't see any heavy bags there.

"What is this trickery that I have encountered?" he boomed to the library at large. When no one answered, Apollo stalked around the aisles, hands held at the ready in case the Italian Stallion or the Sultan of Sting appeared out of nowhere to try and take him down.

When he found no one, he frowned, hands on his hips. "The King of Sting has to train today and he will train! He will train and you will like!"

So, with a music appearing out of nowhere, Apollo stacked chairs in identical intervals and started leaping over them. He found the heaviest books he could and started wailing away (while not actually damaging them) with his gloved hands.

"I'll get ya! I'll get ya good! You've got no chance!"

The music got louder and Apollo grabbed the highest shelves, pulling himself up in a bastardized version of a pull up. He zigzagged down aisles, taking cutting turns and punching the ends of shelves as he did.

"Can't no one beat me! I am immortal! I am the walking immortal!"

He climbed up on the library counter, hands held up and bouncing around like he'd just won the title and didn't look like a complete fool.

As soon as the bell rang and everyone was seated, Dana said, "Extra credit for anyone who stands up and tells us all the most embarrassing thing they did this weekend."

Once that was over with, she went on, "I'm going to take a little itsy bitsy bit of pity on you guys. Not only am I giving you a bit of a break, but I'm actually going to tell you what it is you're doing in this class. This," she said, patting the room's TV, which had two sportscasters paused on it, "is Sports Night. This is my show. And this is what I'm going to be making you do.

"See, all the stuff you're doing? The research, the errands? That's just the start. By the end of this class, you're going to put together your own show. One or two people will host it, and we're going to put on an actual production with you all doing the work. So when you do these assignments, I want you to be thinking about what you like to do, what you want to avoid, and what you could deal with doing if you don't really care. Today we're going to watch an episode. Really watch it, and see if you can't put yourself up there. Call it escapism."

"I'm sure many of you had very long, interesting weekends, which you want to either forget or tell all your friends about," Ghanima practically sang as class began. "This is not the time or place to do it. Welcome back, boys and girls. Please get out your notebooks and pencils, as it is time to learn. You can swap horror stories after class."

In which Ghanima couldn't care less about your weekend trauma, unless you need a clinic visit. Welcome to Fandom Weird. )

"Interestingly enough, the English word terrible is usually used to translate the Russian word grozny in Ivan's nickname, but the modern English usage of terrible, with a pejorative connotation of bad or evil, does not precisely represent the intended meaning. Grozny's meaning is closer to the original usage of terrible—inspiring fear or terror, dangerous," Ghanima wrote on the board. "Formidable, threatening, or awesome. Perhaps a translation closer to the intended sense would be Ivan the Fearsome, or Ivan the Formidable." She tapped her chalk against the wall, and turned to smile at them. "Somehow, Ivan the Awesome does not quite inspire the same fear as 'Terrible' does."
