A TV was set up at the front of the room. "Purity balls are a sacred event," Edward said. He held a remote in one hand. "Daughters pledge to remain pure until marriage and fathers pledge to keep watch over them. Today we'll find out a little more about these events." He pressed "play" and dimmed the lights so the students could watch a documentary about Purity Balls.

There was a lot of tinsel in class this morning. Deadpool was even vaguely tempted to try and weave it into some sort of fabric there was so much.

If he could weave.

He was almost certain there was a video on youtube to explain it.

"We have almost not time left in the school year so I suppose I should come up with something for you kids to do for your final," He said, picking tinsel off his mask. Bleh. "How about you all bake me delicious cookie and we see how it goes with a glass of milk, Hmmm? I mean, I do wear red and give people things. Usually not gifts, but that's far from the point."

If only he had magic reindeer and Elvin helpers...

"Anyway! Figure out what you're baking and bring it in for your final for me to try. If I go blind... you fail."

With the semester coming to an end, Gavin was trying to think of something fun for the flight club members. Of course, Gavin wasn't the most creative person in the world and applying fun to flight club proved more difficult than he'd originally planned.

But, he'd come up with something.

There were snacks and drinks waiting for the club when they arrived.

"Hey guys," Gavin said. "Hope the end of the semester blues aren't getting you. Today, I thought we'd do something a little different. Parasailing is a form of flying where you don't have much control at all. You're going to feel like you're being towed behind a boat with the ocean breeze in your hair. Just have fun. This is more of a relaxation club than anything where you should learn things. Have fun."

He nodded to the sim and waited for the first person to take their turn.

Karal and Altra arrived, opened the door, spent a moment staring in open mouthed shock, then turned around and left, heading for the stables.

They returned shortly, Karal with a pitchfork in hand.

He needed it just to clear a path to the desk.

There were thin silvery strands, slippery and bright, everywhere. It was falling from the ceiling in irregular showers, coiling on the bookshelves and coating the chairs.

As Karal scraped it aside, it clung to him, sticking to hands and hair and robes. "This," he muttered, "is worse than the music."

Altra didn't answer. For all that he was an avatar of a god, ancient in both years and wisdom, he was still a cat. Some things were biologically hardwired. Butt in the air, he crouched, then pounced, sending up a cloud of tinsel that whirled through the air, and coated them both liberally as it settled.

"I'm sure you already know we're nearing the end of the semester," Mohinder started, brushing away a last few pieces of tinsel. "Today, we're looking at pedology, or soil science. As well as hopefully avoiding jokes about the topic being as clear as mud."

"More than just ground up rocks, soil is - or can be - a thriving enviroment of micro-organisms. A mixture of air, water, minerals and decayed animal and plant life; this thin outer layer surrounds this planet, vital to our lives." Passing out handouts Mohinder continued to describe soil types and surveying. "Plants thrive and perish according to the quality of the soil. Which would survive better here or which at home?"

"Colour is often an effect of chemical composition and moisture. You each have a soil samples at your desks, as well as instuctions on drying and making crayons from them. You should be able to create a variety of colours."
