Indiana was a little surprised when Sam didn't show up for his shift at the library today. The kid was usually more responsible than this.

After waiting an additional fifteen minutes for him to appear, Indy gave up and opened up the library himself.

It's about time he actually worked for a living.

As the students entered the Danger Shop, they would have seen Bond glancing at the candles covering every surface with what looked to be mild annoyance.

"Good afternoon, class," he said. "You were going to be doing a class on wilderness survival today, but since I'd rather not find out if these constitute an actual fire risk the hard way, you'll instead be watching a movie on the subject."

After a week off for the holiday, Ned was back in the classroom today, setting up for the meeting of the club. He had a few moddable snacks and drinks which felt kind of weird considering they were going to cook and all. Oh well. Good to have snacks.

"Welcome back." He nodded, smiled at the group. "Hope everyone's holiday was good and that you ate lots and lots and lots. Today, I thought we'd have an easy lesson."

Ned held up a small box and said, "Jell-O! Some of you may know what this is, some of you may not. It's not the greatest thing in the world to eat but it's pretty fun to make. So, that's what we're going to do today. There's every flavor imaginable and materials that you need to make the Jell-O. It's not hard to make at all. Be creative. Don't throw it at anyone unless you're ready to get it thrown back at you."

Ned gestured to the tables.

"So, get...shaking?" Ned needed to work on his jokes.

There were plenty of donuts and coffee available in the classroom today, as well as a relatively somber atmosphere, because today, there would be talk over Very Important Things.

"Hey, guys," Turtle greeted the little club once everyone was there, "we're going to spend some time on the tents; I want them to be ready to be sold after next week's meeting, and, this week, I think everyone should start promotion and advertisement. If you have any questions about how we can do that, let me know, and we'll chat. The main focus for today, though, is going to be something that's very important for any young entrepreneur. I know we're all from very different worlds and places, so the economy of this world might not directly effect your world, but it does effect you while you're here, and it never hurts to know what to do in a situation like this."

"Our economy is officially in what's called a recession, which means a period of decreasing economic productivity. It's not good. People lose jobs, the money uses value, and things become scarcer, tighter. Bankruptcies, foreclosures, lots of really depressing stuff and it can be really hard for people, especially in the economic market, especially if you're a young entrepreneur just starting out."

And didn't have over twenty cool million sitting in a bank somewhere. Turtle cleared her throat, and pulled out a stack of papers.

"So I put these together, lists of tips for starting entrepreneurs during a recession. When there's an economic downward trend, it's us, the upstarts and the newcomers and the forward thinkers, that can really strive to put a dent in things and get it moving back up again. There's no time like now to try to step up. Have a look over these, put in some thought, and maybe you'll be inspired."

"War is hell," Nathan said after everyone had gotten to their seats. "There aren't many people who find war fun. There are those who find it inevitable. As a leader one of your hardest decisions will be about when to go to war.

"Do you go to war to defend your people? What counts as defense? If you know of a threat do you strike first or do you wait until you're hit? Is it ethical to make the pain and death of your own people a touchstone? Are you serving your people well if you allow them to be hurt?

"What about others? Many would argue that genocide is wrong, but would you go to war over it? Does it matter if it's happening to an ally? An enemy? Someone who you have no relationship with at all? What about if your country is suffering a depression and doesn't have the resources to go to war? What if you think you should go to war but your people don't agree? Does it matter if their disagreement is based in a prejudice of some kind? What if it's based on the argument that resources are better spent caring for the sick and poor within your country?

"As you can see, it's a complicated topic," Nathan said. "There is no way that it could be covered in a single class. For today let's limit ourselves to a discussion of those questions. Or, boiled down to a single one: When, as a leader, do you decide to go to war?

"Let's hear your thoughts."

Murdock had a large bowl of candy, many of them of the holiday variety, sitting out on his desk.

Probably best not to ask where they came from.

Like his shoes.

"Hey class," he grinned. "Wow, hard to believe the semester is almost over. I hope y'all have been taking notes 'cause there's supposed to be some kind of test thing y'all have to take."

He may not have realized that part when he first started teaching. Ah, ooops?

"It shouldn't be too hard, though. Anyway, we got one more thing to cover first. Space Flight!"

"Welcome back," Miss Bennet smiled, placing a basket filled with candy onto her desk. "And welcome back to our usual classroom; I hope you haven't been pining for it terribly, since we haven't been here in a while. Last week, of course, you were all enjoying an American holiday, and the week before that, we were in the school library.

"I brought extra donuts," Rikku explained as she set the box down. "'Cause we missed having a meeting last week but we had a paper anyway. That means you guys rock and get extra donuts."

Rikku-logic was bizarre, but at least it came with donuts?
