Cooking Club [Home Ec Classroom, Thursday, 1pm]

After a week off for the holiday, Ned was back in the classroom today, setting up for the meeting of the club. He had a few ~~moddable~~ snacks and drinks which felt kind of weird considering they were going to cook and all. Oh well. Good to have snacks.

"Welcome back." He nodded, smiled at the group. "Hope everyone's holiday was good and that you ate lots and lots and lots. Today, I thought we'd have an easy lesson."

Ned held up a small box and said, "Jell-O! Some of you may know what this is, some of you may not. It's not the greatest thing in the world to eat but it's pretty fun to make. So, that's what we're going to do today. There's every flavor imaginable and materials that you need to make the Jell-O. It's not hard to make at all. Be creative. Don't throw it at anyone unless you're ready to get it thrown back at you."

Ned gestured to the tables.

"So, get...shaking?" Ned needed to work on his jokes.

Get creative!

Why, yes, those were cute little animals like kitties and puppies that Chad was etching his Jell-O into, why do you ask?

Hurley was just going to make some Jell-o, then cut shapes out of it with cookie cutters.

Jello with a wiiiiide variety of substances suspended in it was a familiar sight in the Peters home, so Francine was pretty comfortable playing around with it. Her choice for today was to float green grapes in sugar-free cherry jello for a wiggly seasonal touch.

And then cover it with whipped cream. For snow, naturally!

"Whoa, neat," Hurley said. He watched what Francine was doing. "That's pretty clever."

"The fruit?" Francine asked. "My mom makes that all the time."

"Oh, I meant, like... the festive color combo," Hurley said. "But the fruit too, yeah."

"Oh!" Francine grinned and poked at one of the grapes with a spoon, watching it shimmy in the jello. "If I'd gone with green jello and cherries it'd look more like a Christmas tree, though."

"Or a frog with chicken pox," Hurley joked.

Francine made a face. "Ewwww. I prefer the Christmas tree, thanks. ...Not that I'd want to eat an actual one of those, either."

"Besides, like, the red jello is tastier than the green," Hurley said.

"Mmm-hmm," Francine agreed. "The green only really tastes good with marshmallows. Of course, anything tastes good with marshmallows."

"Especially other marshmallows," Hurley said with a laugh.

Francine beamed. "Exactly! So few people understand these simple secrets to gourmet eating."

"We're the lucky few," Hurley said. "I'm, like, Hurley by the way."

"More marshmallows for us, then!" She grinned, less self-conscious than she usually was with boys. "I'm Francine."

"Cool," Hurley said. "I totally shoulda gone for marshmallows in mine. I was just gonna... do the cookie cutter thing."

"That's fun too!" Francine said cheerfully. "Then you can pick them up and wiggle them at people."

"Nothin' more fun than... wiggling things at people," Hurley said. "That... doesn't sound right."

...Liir had been cooking for a while in this world, but jell-o was getting a definite stare.

He's there, not jiggling like Jell-O!

After she pings in!

Lulu was there ~~just like she had been the last couple of weeks, shhh~~, eying the Jell-O suspiciously. She still wasn't convinced that it wasn't a flan. Of the fiend (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Aqua_Flan) variety, not of anything like the food.
