Survival Skills [Wednesday, Period Four]

Unlike the previous two weeks, today the Danger Shop was set up to look like the picturesque Welsh mountain ranges Bond was terribly fond of dragging out for classes like this. A small table was set up near where Bond was standing, with maps and compasses lying on it.

"In and of itself, orienteering is a family of sports, rather than a survival skill," he began once the class had finished arriving. "However, it requires a firm grasp of navigation skills, which makes it a perfect practical exercise to learn those skills." Bond continued his explanation of the hows and whys of orienteering for a while before gesturing towards the table.

"This class I would like you all to split up into pairs and complete the courses indicated on the maps," he said. "Every map has a different course indicated so there's no need to treat this like a race."

Cooking Club [Home Ec Classroom, Thursday, 1pm]

Thursday meant it was time for Cooking Club which meant it was time for Ned to head down to the home ec classroom and start setting up. He supposed he could have done something to commemorate the recent election but he didn't know enough about politics to really feel like he could do it justice.

"So, hi," he said, hands shoved into his pockets and shoulders scrunched up. "Good to see you all again. Um, today I thought we'd do something a little different. Like really different. The past few times, we've been cooking and eating. Today, no eating. Today, I want you guys to make things that you think would work best in a food fight."

Ned had no idea where this idea had come from.

"Inevitably in the kitchen, you're going to get messy," he continued. "This is like an exercise of what makes you messy and what makes you not messy. Um, feel free to throw it at each other but try not to hurt anyone and don't worry about the cleanup."

With that, he gestured to the supplies and made sure cleaning things were at hand.

One nice thing about having been a library aide for so long was that Sam could go through all the motions of opening up and starting the day without having to actually think about what he was doing. That made it much easier on days like today, when all of his thoughts were about how Dean was doing with Ben and them getting back safely.

Young Entrepreneurs Club; Thursday 2pm -- 111/06.

Back in their usual classroom, Turtle had a bunch of papers and pencils and colored pencils and the like waiting for everyone in the room. "So," she said, "I think last week proved that we can do a pretty good job of making these ourselves, so I went ahead and put in an order for plenty of material. Today, we're going to be designing stuff. Whatever. Designs for the sides of the tents, maybe, or advertising, or some really nifty boxing And then we'll have plenty of options to use come time to produce and sell, sell, sell!"

Newspaper Staff Meeting, 4 pm, Journalism Room

Rikku was bouncing to herself and humming while she waited for the rest of the paper staff to show up.

Of course she brought pastries and coffee. Not bringing pastries and coffee was like asking wild animals to gnaw on you. Newspaper folks could get seriously cranky without their donuts, okay?!

Aviation & Avionics, Thursday November 6

Murdock arrived to class a few minutes late. He just grinned at his students, "Had a slight dog problem this morning."

Trying to contain three dogs at once wasn't necessarily a good idea.

"I was thinking about how class is going and thought maybe a discussion of some specific aircraft and how they affected the history of aviation is in order."

With that, he turned to the blackboard and began writing.
