As usual, Steve was waiting for his workshoppers in the art room. Paper, pencils (both colored and plain), and crayons were laid out on the tables, along with instruction sheets.

"Today," Steve began, "We're going to play around with something I'm very fond of: illustrations! Just remember they will not, in fact, pay the rent and you probably won't wind up living in your best friend's office." Cough. "I've provided some instructions to help get you started, but if you want to go beyond that, feel free; that's what art is all about. Of course, if you're one of those people who can barely draw stick figures--and there's nothing wrong with that!--you might be better off sticking with the cartoonies. If you want any help or a second opinion, I'll be right here, as usual."

Marshall handwavily asked the kids to come to the Danger Shop for class today. It was made up to look like the inside of a club for some reason. Everybody could take a seat at the bar while Marshall was lecturing.

It was the start of another week, and that meant Sam was getting his library duties on, even if no one probably needed them.

Today there was a movie prepared for the kids to watch. An Educational movie.

Yes.

Educational.

There was no teacher, but the movie manageed to mysteriously start when all the students arrived in the classroom. Go figure.

And a note written on a piece of paper underneath the television screen.

Watch the movie. But no drinking. As an adult I can't endorse the act of drinking and fighting. Drinking and driving, sure. But not fighting. ... Wait, I think that's wrong. Ignore that. Just watch the damn movie.

"Good afternoon," John greeted the class as they filed into the danger shop turned garage. "Today we're going to focus on the battery. The thing you will most likely need to do in regards to a car battery is jumpstart it. Though it doesn't hurt to know how to change your battery either." He demonstrated both procedures.

"Really, neither's that hard," he said as he stepped back and wiped his hands on a grease cloth, "as long as you pay attention to details and do things in the right order so you don't end up with sparkage." He looked around. "Your turn."

Today’s topic was rather inspired by the shopping trip that was looming rather, well, ominously in her very near future. Her tomorrowish future even. What had she been thinking? Juli considered the fact that it would, at least, be nice to go out with Charlotte but at the same time her fingers itched to make a list of what to buy.

She suspected that Charlotte would take the list from her, fold it up, and refuse to let her see it. The whole… impulse-shopping wasn’t something Juli thought she’d be good at.

Ah, well. It would be an… experience. She’d give it a try.

“We’ll be talking about clothing today,” she said quietly. “On this planet there are many different cultures and with those cultures come different styles of dress. This idea is only furthered when you add alternate universes and worlds into the equation. These differences in apparel can be subtle, or incredibly overt.”

“What I’m wearing, for instance, is considered to be high-end professional in my universe,” Juli continued. “Here, it can garner a few glances, but otherwise manages to pass mostly uncommented upon. This isn’t the same for everyone,” she said, thinking of Temari’s fishnet… issue, and Giselle’s dresses.

“From your world to this, what are the main differences in style do you think? Do you prefer your own world’s way of doing things, or do you rather this one? For those of you from this world, or one so like it that there’s not an appreciable difference in what is worn, what clothing do you prefer? Why? Is it for what it looks like, how practical it is, the way it feels?”

She folded her hands neatly over her stomach. “You may begin.”
