Basic Auto Mechanics, session 5, Monday period 4

"Good afternoon," John greeted the class as they filed into the danger shop turned garage. "Today we're going to focus on the battery. The thing you will most likely need to do in regards to a car battery is jumpstart it. Though it doesn't hurt to know how to change your battery either." He demonstrated both procedures.

"Really, neither's that hard," he said as he stepped back and wiped his hands on a grease cloth, "as long as you pay attention to details and do things in the right order so you don't end up with sparkage." He looked around. "Your turn."

As usual, Cal was paying close attention to the demonstrations, feeling a bit confident in the fact that these procedures seemed relatively simple.

Piece of cake. Jack paid close attention to the demonstration.

Ooooooh. Batteries were those little stored-up power devices. She should've guessed cars had them, too, but she thought that's what the gas was for.

So many notes.

The last time Kevin jumped a car, he had been giving the owner oral pleasure in exchange for fifty bucks. The guy was so grateful to get his car going again, he doubled the payment, so Kevin definitely knew this was a valuable skill they were learning in class today.

Jumping a car was fun, because there were sparks and revvings and getting something working again always made you feel accomplished. Woo!

Might as well try both, Michael figured. He started with the jump cables.

Dick tried the jump and it worked. Huzzah!

Jack tried the jump first. It worked. He grinned and neatly coiled the jumper cables.

Bridge? Here. And cheerful. As if anyone expected anything else.
