"I understand you are all looking forward to your finals next week." Mohinder moved from behind his desk as he looked around the classroom. "And I wish you all luck with that."

Bridge makes his way to the library in time to get it ready for opening. There's an extra bounce in his step today. It could be that finals are just around the corner. It could be that today's his anniversary with Xander. It could be both.

...it's totally both. Dork.

Aly waited until the class was settled before she started to talk.  "So you might have noticed, I'm not your normal teacher.  If you didn't?  Either get your eyes checked out or work on your observation skills.  For any of you who don't know me, I'm Aly.  I teach spycraft usually.  And blowing things up.  Rose couldn't make it to class today so I'm going to teach you about a very important part of modern popular culture.  And it's one I didn't learn about until just recently so I want to pass this on to you so you don't miss out."

She moved to the TV and turned on last night's finale of America's Next Top Model.  "It's rigged, of course.  And you guys are missing the awesomeness of Heather.  But it's still an important part of twenty-first century American culture."

"Oh!  And apparently you guys have final projects so keep working on those."

[OOC:  OCD coming up...yeah, I couldn't resist]

Chuck came into class, late as usual.

"Today's a review day, before the exam. If you have any questions, ask them now, because I don't want to have to talk to any of you next week."

He really loved his students. You can see it in his eyes, feel it in the kindness of his words.

The Danger Shop when everyone walked in was made up to look like a normal classrom. John was standing at the front leaning against a desk with a cup of coffee.

"Good morning," John said. "Today we're just going to talk about one particular kind of invasion, the kind that can be the most insiduous and dangerous. And that's the kind that comes from within." He hit a button and the scenery behind him changed to a view of a very pink and kitten-plated office and a middle aged woman sitting behind the desk. "Sometimes, it's not really all that difficult to spot such dangers. This past summer, when Principal Washburn was on maternity leave, one such example was put in place as temporary principal. Delores Umbridge was, to put it mildly, incredibly unstable, a meglomaniac and a sadist to boot. Pretty much anyone who had any encounter with her came away with the knowledge that she was bad news. Subtle, she wasn't. If you run into something like that, the best thing you can do is keep your distance and go to a teacher or adult you can trust. There are some things you students shouldn't have to deal with."

He pushed another button and the scene changed to a young man with curly hair and pure black eyes trapped in a symbol on the floor. "Another example is one that is much harder to detect. The kind of danger that comes in the guise of a friend. There was an incident with some demonic possession last year -- and until someone who had precognitive visions had one about this particular student, no one had clued in that he was possessed.

"It's nowhere near as easy to figure out something is wrong with something that is that subtle. There are signs -- someone acting a little out of character -- either knowing or not knowing things out of the ordinary for them, or someone being cruel in a way that is not normal for them. Or, likewise, someone being a lot nicer than normal. That kind of thing can be a clue that maybe not all is well there.

"Of course," John added with a smile, "those kind of things could also just be normal teenage moods and it's sometimes hard to tell which is which. But if you do suspect that something is off, again, talking to a teacher or other adult you trust to get a second opinion is always a good option."

He touched the remote again and that scene faded as well. "And that's all I have to say about that. Since this is our last class before finals, I'm going to let you go early. Our final, by the way, will be held Monday evening, due to the time constraints of a guest who is going to be helping with it. So if there's no questions, I'll see you all then."

Josh smiled warmly as the students walked into the classroom. "Next week is finals," he said, "and traditionally, that means we've set up coffee carts in the common rooms, a different floor each night. If I could get some volunteers, I'd appreciate it. There'll be a pizza party for all of us next Friday to celebrate a semester's worth of excellent work, too."

He looked down at his notes. "Oh, and one more thing. I talked with Zoe and in honor of Bart, his freshman seat on the Council will always be his. We'll have two freshmen representatives from here on out. I'm assuming no one has a problem with that?"

He twirled his pen between his fingers. "If you have anything else to discuss, the floor's open."

When students entered the classroom, they would find their teacher lounging at the desk, smoking a cigar and drinking a nice scotch.

Assuming Barney cared what time class started, he didn't bother to stand when he started his lecture. "Okay, so I heard on the radio that the other slacker professors of NOT Awesome have been giving students free periods," he paused to take a long, enjoyable sip of his drink. "I think I understand why and I've decided to take advantage of this most glorious Fandom High tradition."

"Today you will create study guides. Not just any run-of-the-mill study guide, nay nay! These are very special study guides known as Cootie Catchers or Fortune Tellers. Make one on your own and then get your classmates and others to play with you. Watch out or you might just get a date from this activity, assuming you've paid attention and you write the right fortunes inside." Barney puffed on his cigar for a minute before continuing.

"Oh, and do a write-up of your homework assignment from last week. Extra credit if it's interesting. I encourage you to see how well you can lie." Knowing the students in his class, Barney hadn't really expected them to follow his directions last week. It was sady, but at least he could look forward to reading a few good stories.
