Love Smart: Period 2, Week 13

When students entered the classroom, they would find their teacher lounging at the desk, smoking a cigar and drinking a nice scotch.

Assuming Barney cared what time class started, he didn't bother to stand when he started his lecture. "Okay, so I heard on the radio that the other slacker professors of NOT Awesome have been giving students free periods," he paused to take a long, enjoyable sip of his drink. "I think I understand why and I've decided to take advantage of this most glorious Fandom High tradition."

"Today you will create study guides. Not just any run-of-the-mill study guide, nay nay! These are very special study guides known as Cootie Catchers or Fortune Tellers. Make one on your own and then get your classmates and others to play with you. Watch out or you might just get a date from this activity, assuming you've paid attention and you write the right fortunes inside." Barney puffed on his cigar for a minute before continuing.

"Oh, and do a write-up of your homework assignment from last week. Extra credit if it's interesting. I encourage you to see how well you can lie." Knowing the students in his class, Barney hadn't really expected them to follow his directions last week. It was sady, but at least he could look forward to reading a few good stories.

Jim Halpert, pick-up game of basketball

Yes, he was that kid who always grabbed the basketball every day. Nobody knew how he always managed to get there first. He was a crafty child.

Re: Write up your homework!

Hoshi had forgotten about the homework since she didn't have a significant other to break up with. But there was her attempts to escape Jack's bumbling attempts to flirt with her (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2340037.html) the other day. Of course, since this was for Barney, she embellished a little. She didn't really give him cold tofu when he ordered something else. She didn't really have Gunther chase him off with a knife. She didn't really break his arm over a poker game. And she didn't really beat him at strip poker and make him run naked back to the dorms in total humiliation.

Jim wrote up a quick thing.

I left her a note saying that it was fun but we're done. I then wrote about my ignorance that I could be a poet. She wrote a note back to me and there were tear stains on it.

I never read it.

Lacking a significant other to dump or not dump as the case may be, Zack wrote up the tragic story of a young man named Swarley, who after being rejected by Canadian teen pop idol Robin Sparkles, grew up to become a bitter and cynical man whose only goal in life was to try and crush the joy out of the lives of teenagers.

He failed a lot.

Well, at least Zack found it entertaining.

Andrew could churn out fortune tellers like a champion fortune teller making person, so he did. He was even trying to make make one Professor Stinson might approve of. He called it the If you know what I mean catcher.

So far he had fortunes like:

- You will be the butter on my bread. If you know what I mean.
- You will eat the salt off my Planters. If you know what I mean.
- You're in for a bumpy ride on my personal hot ride. If you know what I mean.

And then he got stuck.

Willow set about making a very detailed cootie catcher that also doubled as an actual study guide for her other classes.

Jim made one that blatantly ripped off the Magic 8-Ball.

-Yes.
-No.
-Perhaps.
-Reply hazy, try again.

Then he added his own fortunes.

-I'm a piece of paper, not a Magic 8-Ball, dammit!
-Absolutely I do.
-[Picture of a stick figure ninja]
-You will marry Barney Stinson.

Summer started working on a cootie catcher, trying to think of good fortunes to use. She certainly was not going to use it as a study guide.
