After they finished arriving, Ares smiled at the class. As usual, it wasn't a particulary comforting smile.

"Today's class follows on somewhat from last week's class," he said. "As having covered undergarments, I feel it is now an appropriate time to move onto swimwear."

Well, technically it was appropriate if either the cold had no effect on you, or you could just think yourself to warmer climes.

"So today I'd like you to all divide up to discuss the pros and cons of various types of swim-suit, and we'll see if you can't decide on the best design. Although personally, I favour the skinny-dipping option."

Slightly early, and with thermos of tea tightly in-hand, Anemone opened the library.

Tuesday, December 4, Second Period

The classroom today was decorated with all kinds of astrological charts, and anyone looking closely at the ceiling might have noticed the faint outlines of constellations. The furniture had been moved into a large circle, and there were piles of cushions on the floor.

"Today's topic is astrology, or specifically the branch of astrological divination known as astromancy. There are a number of different 'traditions' of astrology -- those of you from this dimension might be most familiar with the Western or Chinese traditions." Aziraphale gave a brief lecture, and then waved his hand toward the ceiling. The lights in the room began to dim, and as they did so, the ceiling became covered in stars, constellations, and the outlines of astrological symbols.

"Make yourselves comfortable in the chairs on the floor, and spend some time studying the symbols used in the three major fields of astrology we've covered in the lecture: Vedic, Western, and Chinese. If you like, try your hand at some divination for yourself or one of your classmates."

"Hey, class!" Tim said as he bounded in.

"Today, we will be discussing exterior siding. One of the most popular choices is brick, because it stands up to the weather and blowhardy wolves." He paused for laughter and then steamerolled right on. "Other choices are wood clapboards, which look like so." He turned a wall model around to show the wood clapboard style. "There's also Vinyl siding which is made of a durable plastic and aluminum siding which is made out of aluminum, and both mimic the look of the clapboard style, but without the maintenance of having to scraaaape and repaaaaint and you're up on a ladder and there's a wasps' nest and they attack. Noooo, don't want thaaaat," he grunted.

"There's also Shiplap which is common in barns, and has the rabbited tongue-and-groove like flooring. Plywood siding, like this section of Tee-One-Eleven!!!1!! is also popular and fairly economical, as it can be stained or painted and looks good on a house or a shed or a barn. Metal siding can be used, but boy is it noisy when it hails. Just like roofing, your design'll lean you towards one way or another. And just like roofing, you can also use shingles."

"So, for today, take one of these wall modules and cover it up with one of the siding choices! Extra credit if you manage to cut around the door and window openings," he said, pointing to a group of freestanding wall modules with a door and a window framed.

For some reason that would probably be explained, class was held in the Home Ec room today. When the class arrived, five of the 'kitchen stations' were set up with food and several copies of a fat book.

Aly was sitting on one of the tables away from the food, looking slightly amused. "Good morning everybody," she said once they were all assembled. "When the class started, I warned you that my idea of protection might not be completely the same as everyone else's, and this class is going to be a good example of that."

She waved over the array of kitchen stations. "Some of you probably know how to cook. Some of you wouldn't have the least idea in the world. Today, hopefully, that second group is going to change a bit. Because sometimes protecting someone means feeding them and making sure they have energy for the next day. There should be a copy of that cookbook for everyone to take with them. It's nothing fancy. I can barely cook so I'm not giving you Julia Child or anything here."

"Your task for today is to work with a group or by yourself and make something edible out of the ingredients at your table. Then share it amongst your classmates. Breakfast being the most important meal of the day and all."

"Any questions? I don't want any of you leaving before letting me try a bite or a piece of what you make."

[OOC: OCD is coming up. Class brought to you by me being really, really hungry.]
