Elliot looked significantly more chipper as she waited for class to begin today. "Hey, people. Sorry about last week -- it's just really distressing to lose your work like that. But this week, I did not lose my work. We are learning about the circulatory system, which is the system that moves blood and other fluid throughout your body, bringing oxygen in and carbon dioxide out." She continued her lecture, explaining the roles of the heart, veins, arteries and capillaries.

"There are three major parts of the circulatory system: pulmonary circulation, which moves blood from the heart to the lungs; coronary circulation; which keeps the heart healthy and functioning; and systemic circulation, which makes everything else work." She had a set of slides explaining each element in minute detail. "Your activity for today is to get into groups of three, and I want each of you to argue why one of those parts is the most important one in the body. Think of it as a brainstorming exercise, don't stress about right or wrong answers, and no threatening to cut each other to make a point. When you finish, you can do a mock heart transplant on one of the dummies in the back of the room."

"Let me know if you have questions."

"Right. Today we're going to look at one more source of movie inspiration before we really start buckling down into the literature: amusement park rides." Daisy shrugged with a 'what can you do?' look. "Now, it used to be that the people who made movies were more creative than that, but what can you do? There are two rides-into-movies in particular that we're going to look at today: Buccaneers of the Sea Not Entirely Unlike the Caribbean, which I think one the award for most unweildly title when it launched a whole movie franchise, and the Spooky Rich-house, which didn't do nearly as well in the theaters."

Daisy handed out a few information sheets on the rides. "We've got clips from both up here to take a look at. Now, what I want you to do is a bit of comparison. Why do you think that Buccaneers did so much better than Spooky Rich-house? What elements did one movie have that the other didn't? And of course, there's the usual question of how they turned the rides into the movies. I'd also like you to think about any other rides that might work this way, and how you would go about putting together a movie about them. And I'm still hoping for some interesting ideas for a final project."

"Today?" El said, walking towards the center of the classroom with his familiar chink-chink-ing.

"We're going to talk about our heroes. Specifically? Our guitar heroes."

Yes. Guitar Heroes. You heard him. )

Rory? Curled up in the back with a cup of decaf coffee (she felt so blasphemous, omg) and was happily doped up on just enough benadryl to breathe through her nose and just enough ibuprofen to keep everything ache-free.

She was idly looking at something online, though it's entirely possible that it was not anything paper-related. Bad Rory.

"Good afternoon students!" Ms Frizzle said with a bounce and a spin. "My apologies for cancelling our last class on such short notice, but let's get right back into the swing of things! The end of the year and your final science fair projects are coming up fast, so don't forget to talk to me about those sometime soon!

"Now, we can start the lesson as soon as I finish my lunch! Liz, where's my tuna sandwich?"

The lizard looked a little bit sheepish as she held up a handful of what looked like green guck, but the Friz laughed delightedly. "A wonderful start, Liz! Looks like it's time to take chances, make mistakes, and get . . . wet! Everyone to the bus!"

[[OCD on the way, you know the drill. OCD up, play away. I make no promises as to my flakiness. It's been a bad week.]]

Lights in the front of the room were switched off, the SmartBoard illuminated with a blue screen. A small box rested on the desk at the front of the room, labelled "Papers." Professor Roslin would be taking attendance today by the papers she received. Beside the box were bags of popcorn and cans of soda. The professor herself sat at the back of the room, her glasses perched on the bridge of her nose as she reviewed a pile of documents spread across the small desk. Strangely, it looked very...presidential.

As students entered, Roslin glanced over the rims of her glasses. "Turn in your paper, grab some popcorn, and a drink," she said. "In a few minutes, we're going to watch some television, and provide some MST3K running commentary. For now, just have a seat and talk quietly among yourselves."

"Okay," she said after the bell rang. "Let's get started. Today, I've pulled an episode of Strifenova Celestial, so we can continue our discussions from last week with a little bit of audio-visual help." If she was disturbed by the similarities between her own reality and that on the television series, it didn't show in her expression. She pressed "play" on the remote and the SmartBoard flickered to life.

The episode played throughout the class, with Roslin pausing it when points of discussion arose. She dismissed the class just before the credits rolled. "Have a good weekend!"

Ami welcomed everyone, a bit nervously.

"Hi everyone. Sorry i was missing for two meetings. Thank you very much to the lovely Mr. Aziraphale who covered for me. I have handouts again, if anyone needs them."

She looked around.

"There are cookies and muffins in the back, as well as tea and soda. Now. Lets play."

Today, Hades' office was a little more welcoming. That may have had something to do with the animate socks having taken over the place.

Herman the rubber ducky was on his shelf, cuddled up with a pink and green striped sock. There was a platter of lint-covered food on the table and there were craft supplies set up on the floor in boxes. Various socks were in there, getting the supplies in order.

"We're going with the mask-making idea. Supplies are there. Leave me alone." He eyed the blue sock that was wearing a grey robe. It was mocking him, of that he had no doubt, but it was doing a fairly good impersonation, so he didn't set it on fire. "Especially you."

Just outside the auditorium, rather.

The auditorium itself had chains and locks on it. If you were paying any attention, you could detect an unpleasant odor in the general area.

The Tick stood by the doors with a clothespin on his mighty nose. "Hello, students!" he said, the pinched nose affecting his voice amusingly. "We have a minor sock situation inside the auditorium. A horde of gym socks was leaving the Drawer of Evil that they call a gym, took a wrong turn, and ended up in there. The smell is nigh unbearable! Until the sock crisis is over and the auditorium is ventilated, no one is to go in there! Thank you, chums!"

The Tick watched the doors to make sure that nobody was able to get inside.

His concern over this entrance combined with the lightheadedness that followed prolonged exposure to the sock smell made him overlook the fact that there was an unguarded entrace around the corner.

[OOC: Long hours at work = little time to plan stuff out = me flaking on the assembly. If you'd like to brave the stench of an auditorium full of gym socks, feel free to head in the other entrance. Please cover your nose in some way, though.]
