Wednesday, February 21, First Period

Once the class was assembled, M asked Nadia and Marty to come forward.

"Your homework assignment was to write an essay on possible uses for the wristwatch. There are a number of applications that have already been used -- communicators, explosives, tracking devices. Santos and Blank will demonstrate a somewhat unusual item that was developed some years ago for my own agency."

After the demonstration was completed, M turned to the class.

"For discussion today, I want you to use the essay you wrote for your homework, and discuss how one might turn an ordinary wristwatch into a piece of specialty spy equipment. Convince me and one another that your plan could work. Before you leave today, remember to turn in your essay."

HOMEWORK: "Next week there will be no class, so I hesitate to bother giving you an assignment today. Instead, I will inform you that we will be meeting in the Danger Shop the following week, to begin our lesson on disguise."

Creative Writing, Period 6 2/21

Yuki was looking exceptionally hung over. He had large bags under his eyes and his hair was messy. He doesn’t even stand up to talk to the class, “If any of you saw me this weekend then I don’t want to hear about it. Let’s just say that youth is fleeting, and yours will be even more fleeting if you say anything about it. Are we clear?”

“Today you’re going to write your introduction. You want to put a lot of time into starting with a good sentence. If your teacher is bored of reading after the first paragraph you’re in big trouble. Engage the reader. You want them to care about what your writing. If YOU care about your writing then you’ll dress it up nice, you’ll want people to care about it like you do. All you have to do today is write your first paragraph, but it better be flawless.”

Yuki slumps his head down on his desk and promptly shuts his eyes. He MIGHT be asleep. But you don’t really want to test it do you?

Broots was in no way more relaxed today.

"Um, hi. Yeah. Today, we're playing with a sort of LARP? Anyway, in this hat," Broots waved the baseball cap he had been clutching at around. "I dumped the names of various popular characters from TV shows from the past decade or so. Draw a name, and that's who you are for the night. Interact with other people, try to figure out who other people are, accuse people of murder, whatever. Um...yeah.

Geordi was seated at his desk, he had briefly considered hiding under it but then he reasoned that he wouldn't have been able to teach that day's class from under the desk. Once the students were seated and the noise had quietened down, he stood up.

The PA crackles to life with a bunch of male voices singing:

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!

Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!

"And that tomorrow is today!" Jamie exclaimed through the PA. "Good morning students! This is Jamie Madrox. Principal Jamie Madrox. That's right. I'm in charge so let's get a few things straight...

First: Everyone must bring me pie.

Second: There is no more homework. Why? Because I said so. I'm the freaking principal. All teachers assigning homework today will be given detention. Except for Darth Vader who deserves detention on general principle. In fact he shall no longer be known as Darth Vader but Darth Imajerk.

Third: the school song for Fandom High is now the theme from the popular reality series "Sanford and Son".

Fourth: Marie D'Ancanto is hereby given detention. And must spend said detention in my office. All day. Bring the scarf.

Finally, the toilets appear to be complaining today. I urge all of you to use the paper protection thingies when sitting down and that all male students and teachers practice better aim."

"Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy my benevolent dictatorship."

And just before the PA system shuts off the delicate sounds of the theme from Sanford and Son are heard.

"Bah Bah Bwah-Nah. Bah Bah Bwah-Nah Bwah-nah-naaaaaaaaaah".
