"Hey guys," Seely grinned. "Welcome to the first Kappa Kappa Gremlin meeting for the year, now the main purpose of this meeting for us guys to get to know each other a bit better over some pizza. But there are a couple of things that I'd like to bring up for you guys to think about."

"First and foremost, I'm sure that most of you have noticed that our beloved school now has a sorority," Seely said. "And I think you guys all know what that means. We're going to have to come up with a way to show the girls of Alpha Beta Gremlin, our care and support."

"Also, the Valentine's dance on Friday, I'm sure most of you will already have dates, being the charming bunch of ladies men we are, but I'm thinking that if any guys here who feel like doing the stag thing, now's the time to coordinate."

"And that's it from me, go, have pizza."

Elliot stood with her hands on her hips, watching the students come in. When most of them seemed to have assembled, she started to talk.

"Hey people. It's crazy, but we're almost halfway through the semester already -- your midterm break is in two weeks. And that means midterm projects." She paused, and seemed a little disappointed if the students didn't look wildly excited by this.

"Anyhow, I split you into four groups of three. Each group has been assigned a body system that we've already studied -- skeletal, lymphatic, digestive and muscular. Your task is to work together to find a creative way to present that body system. If you use the body tracings we've been working on every class in your presentation, you get extra credit."

"Projects are due next Thursday; I'll give you the class period today for groupwork. There are handouts from every class on that table over there if you need a refresher. Come talk to me if you have questions."

There was a large stack of comics on the front table when the class entered, both monthlies and trades, next to another large stack of DVDs. Daisy was in her chair, sipping from a large pink mug with big red and white hearts on it, looking vaguely melancholy.

"Good morning, class. Today we're going to look at the tricky, trippy world of comic book adaptations. On the desk, there's a wide array of comics, from your typical superhero books to your less than typical stories about middle aged men looking for love. Pick a book, grab the movie copy, and figure out what worked, what didn't, and what you would change if you were the one adapting it. You'll have to take turns with the media stations."

Indeed, three TV/DVD combos were set up in the back of the room with large, stereo headphones attached.

"You can work in groups or by yourself, but by the end of class I'd like you to turn in an outline of what differences you found between the comic and the movie, and what you would have done differently."

Students arriving for class might find frost over the exterior of the door. A note has been taped to the front:

Sociology of Space Travel cancelled for today -- hold on to your lists for next week. If you have any questions in the interim, I'll be in my office on Friday and Wednesday. Regards, L. Roslin

[Apologies, folks, but this ain't my week. I plan to regroup and be back into the grind next week. Thanks for your patience. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to use the contact information on Laura's user info.]

"Buenos Dias class. Today we're going to continue on our guitar manufacture. We've talked about the structure of the guitar, now we're going to talk about materials. Guitars have been made out of wood for years beyond count, although with electric guitars, there has been something of a migration towards plastic.

"However, we do not have the equipment, nor do I have the time to show you how to make an electric guitar. So we will instead focus on the wooden acoustic. Now, I've gone and obtained you some Koa wood for your guitars. Don't ask me how.

"This is considered among the best kinds of wood for guitar making, due to various accoustical properties. This stuff is quite rare, so we'll be saving it until the end. Next class, we'll begin working in the Danger Shop with fake wood for practice. For now, though, I've provided you with several guitar plans as well as drafting paper of your own. Go on and select both the physical shape of your guitar, as well as what you will put on it to make it unique. What about this guitar will make it yours?"

"Gooooood afternoon, class!" Ms Frizzle greeted them cheerfully as she bounced and pirouetted into class, today's dress adorned with boulders of various shapes and sizes. "I apologise for last week, but now I'm back and I hope you're all ready for another field trip! We're starting our unit on geology, so everyone to the bus!"

[[OCD, as always, on the way. I'll try and interact as much as I can. See my availability post on Jude's journal. Dig, dig, diggity dig.]]

Ami was very very nervously waiting for those who signed up to come into the appropriate classroom. She has gotten some soda and juice as well as chips and cookies. Her computer is set up and she has some handouts. There are also several chess boards up.

When everyone shows up, she starts speaking.

"Welcome everyone. This is Chess Club. You do not need to know how to play to join." She nodded to Aziraphale. "Our adviser doesn't. Yet." She grinned.

"Today is really just to get to know each other and such, but i do have several chess programs on the lap-top for people to look at and some handouts explaining the history of chess." She gestured to the handouts.

"Um, that is all from me..."

"There aren't enough of you to bother getting a real classroom, so come in, find a seat and don't touch anything. Especially you," he glared at Greg. "Welcome to Proud Republican and Tory Students. I don't care what your politics are. Republican clubs look good on college applications, so we all get something out of this little arrangement.

The idea," Hades continued, placing Herman the rubber ducky out of harm's way (namely out of reach from grubby teenaged hands), "is to make the community better. The more subversive the better. If the rest of Fandom doesn't notice our work, we're doing it right. So. I'm not expecting any of you to have any bright ideas, being the mentally challenged mortals you are, but..." He trailed off and shrugged. "Suggestions?"

Later on, Hades added, "Oh, and we need a leader student type for the club. If you think you've got the chops for the job, talk to me. We'll vote next week or I'll pick someone. Really depends on my mood."

After handing back their exams, Josh turned to point at the board where he had scrawled "EXECUTIVE BRANCH" in huge letters.

"Morning," he said. "Today we begin talking about the Executive Branch and why it is so completely superior to all other branches of government. Because we get a motorcade and the rest of them don't, among many, many other reasons."

Josh's favorite subject other than himself! Watch him ramble! )

He sat down. "Today's question: you're the President and just dying to issue an executive order. What do you declare?"
