"Today, class, we will be learning about the national song of Brazil. A music that survived millitary dictatorships, and then became part of the leftist movement to overthrow the regime. Today, class, we will be learning about the Samba."

El walked forward. "Now, I know that many of you are having mid-term tests, and that this is very difficult for you. Fortunately, we will have no mid-term here. We will only dance."

El gave a lecture on the Samba. And then brought up Nadia to help him demonstrate.

"Now, I have heard that you performed your own improvised dances whilst I was away. I have decided that this would make an excellent final project. Next week, I will sort you into groups of four, and you will produce an original dance video similar to the ones made famous by OK GO!. You will be allowed to use any of the dances we have learned about so far."

Rory wandered into the library earlier than she even had to be there, really, and positioned herself behind the desk.

This morning Wilson was a wee more awake and for some reason he was wearing a turtleneck and if he asked him about the marks above the turtleneck he’d look you straight in the eye and claim to have cut himself shaving. He might change it up and say he fell on the vacuum nozzle.

There was a spread of deviled eggs, hard boiled eggs, poached eggs and fruits for anyone who needed a spot of breakfast. There was also coffee, tea and cider. Wilson himself was finishing off a deviled egg and sipping on coffee as the students came in and settled down.

“Good morning everyone.” He said with a smile.

“Okay, you may all groan now but I won’t be passing the tests back until after class. For those of you who missed the test, last class and who haven’t gotten with me in between, I’m afraid to inform you that your test score is 0. That segues quite nicely into today’s topic, Hope vs Despair and how either of these emotions can color our ability to rationally view a situation.”

Pushing away from the front of the desk, Wilson walked to the chalk board and began to lecture.

Seely leant back against the desk at the front of the classroom and address the frat.

"Okay, now that we've all gotten settled in, and Parent's Weekend has safely passed, I really think it's time for us to really start being a frat in action as well as name. So what I'm thinking is we should start organising ourselves a little fun, especially in light of the upcoming halloween festivities, you know, a movie night, couple of poker games, a panty raid. So I'm throwing the floor open to anyone who might have ideas."

"Oh, and in the meantime, there's pizza."

As was usual by now, Honor sat on the front edge of the desk at the front of the room, with the treecat, Nimitz, stretched out on the desk behind her. Her attention was focused closely on the minicomp in her hand as she reviewed her notes for the class today. The recent research had been very enlightening – she’d drawn many parallels between the Cold War and the current situation with Haven – and trying to figure out exactly what she wanted to use in the lecture had been difficult. So difficult that she was still trying to decide on a few other key facts. For not the first time, she wished Hamish were available to provide the lecture for this class; he knew American history even better than she did.

The usual snacks were set out on a table near the front. Still reading from her minicomp, she prepared a cup of hot chocolate without looking up. She sipped from it carefully as she resumed her place at the front of the room. After a long moment, she looked up. 'Okay, everyone; let's be about it...' )

Honor stepped back a bit and allowed the discussion to continue. The end of class approaching, she decided it was time to begin wrapping things up. She moved to her desk, withdrawing a set of papers from her bag. They were placed on the corner of the desk as she turned back to the class. “Next week, we’ll be discussing the changing attitudes about warfare. On the way out, I’d like you to grab one of these packets, on the history of submarines. Taking into consideration what we’ve discussed in the past, I’d like two pages justifying – or not – the use of submarine warfare. This will count as your midterm, so treat it as such, please.”

She paused, regarding them briefly with a critical eye. “All right, then. Dismissed.”

Ms Frizzle was chatting quietly - for her, anyways - with Jack Harkness to the side of the bus as she waited for all three classes to arrive. When they had, she turned to face them with a broad smile, her blood-cell-patterned skirts swishing around her for a moment before settling. "Good afternoon, students! Everyone ready for our biology field trip?" Without waiting for an answer, she forged ahead. "Class, please welcome Dr. Reid's Biology and Health classes, who will be joining us today! And Jack Harkness, who is going to give us a bit of a hand." She turned to him, her bacteriophage-shaped earrings starting to glow. "Now, just stand there with your mouth open. Everyone else, to the bus!"

[[Sorry it's late. And kinda lame. I just . . . yeah. Bad times. OCD on the way. Elliot-mun, feel free to jump in and answer questions as I'll be out of commission for a chunk of the day. Jack modded with permission.

Play away!]]

Rory was sitting in the back, tapping away on her laptop. It's possible she was trying to be very investigative this week, rather than working on her column, and was doing research to see who would send her the giant collection of books and the coffee.

Speaking of, there was of course coffee available for the staff. It's a meeting run by Rory, after all.

A note was pinned to the door of class along with a sign up sheet.

It read:

“Dear Students,

I’m sorry for the last minute notice but I’ve decided to have an optional class on Saturday afternoon to go over the finer points of Chakra use to those who feel they need help. We will meet at the entrance to the preserve at approximately noon, please just bring yourselves in your normal clothes for class.

Again this class is optional. If you feel that you do not need the extra help please continue to train on your own, but for those who do choose to participate there will be extra credit and possibly lunch.

For those wishing to participate please sign up below and I’ll see you Saturday!

- Yondaime XD”

The auditorium stage has been transformed into a series of moving sets and curtains. After the students and faculty take their seats Lorne steps out and waves to the crowd. "Hey all you groovy cats and kittens out there! Thanks for coming today! All my music students are very excited to perform for you today and can't wait to get things started. So without any more delay? Let's light this firecracker!"
