Friday, October 13, Second Period

Today the room is arranged with pairs of comfortable chairs facing one another, a small table set between each pair. Each table is equipped with a very typical looking crystal ball and a dark flat mirror.

Crystallomancy, or crystal gazing... )

Lab Partner List

[ooc: I may be SP today, if your lab partner doesn't show up, see if someone else will partner you -- Phoebe or Lyra, if you're around, this would be part of your TA duties. Also, be warned: I will be issuing detentions next week to anyone who doesn't tag into the main class or this lab by next Monday, or who missed last week's classes and hasn't provided me with an IC excuse. (Phoebe is exempted from that last one.) ;) Please wait for OCD is up!]

[ETA ooc: I lose at dates. Your prophecy teacher should know it's Friday the 13th. Apparently he doesn't care.]

"Hello, Fandom High students and faculty! This week's assembly comes to you out of necessity due to the cost of construction. Our speakers today have a focus on corporate sponsorship and are here to show you the good side and bad side of such sponsorship. Now if you'll give our guests your undivided attention, we can begin!"

[OOC: Same deal as last week. General conversation threads are nice and open, reactions to our guests can go in their threads after they have pinged in, and same for Q&A. Thanks to my assembly volunteers for contributing. :)

ETA: The sprinklers were set off here and will be going until shortly after a faculty member busts those responsible. Faculty members? Nail them!]

As the students enter the classroom, Elliot tosses a weird-shaped plush .... thing at each one.

"Hi. I just gave you guys syphilis, the flu and mad cow disease, and some other stuff" she said gleefully. "Hope you don't mind. Take them home, introduce them to your other roommates, freak people out with them, whatever. But you're getting them today because they fit in with what we're going to talk about, which is bacteria and viruses -- or what you guys might call germs."

She went on to give what was no doubt a completely fascinating lecture about the differences between bacteria and viruses, how they were spread, and the diseases they could cause, and then gestured to two glittery markers set on a table in the front of the class.

"I want you to pass the marker around and take turns writing something on the posterboard. Touch the marker and the paper as you usually would. Watch where the glitter gets on your body and now it gets there, and think about how germs might be similar. I guarantee, you'll never want to touch anything again without rubber gloves and anti-bacterial soap. Which is kind of a bad thing, because it's helping make giant superstrong bacterium that will probably take over the world and cause a plague and kill everyone. So, um, just wash your hands with regular soap, okay?"

She held out the marker to the first student, holding it by the less glittery end. "Go to it."

Josh was at his desk in his classroom with his feet propped up. Chinese food had been delivered--but you'd have to fight him for the ginger chicken.

"First of all, congratulations to all of you for a job extremely well done on Homecoming," he said with a smile. "Though the black and white thing was a little weird. If you guys did that as a surprise, well, consider me surprised."

He looked around the room. "And now, back to the business of governing. There were a couple of ideas brought up at our last meeting for long-term projects: the revival of game nights, an expansion of food services, and common room parties that Jamie is completely convinced won't turn into glitter-covered orgies." Josh's eyebrow quirked up. He wasn't so sure.

"Who wants to head up these projects? Anything else you want to discuss?" He waved them towards the food. "And eat up. You deserve it."

A few Doozers were arranging the Chinese food boxes into a small fort. "Um. Ignore the construction...things."

Just before first period, The Tick's voice could be heard on the speakers. "Hello, students! This is Dean Tick with your morning announcements!"

"Please don't mind the little guys you might see around today! They're helpful construction workers called Doozers! They like to build things and are quite friendly! Or, at least, they don't pay attention to you if they're not building you, but they ignore you in a friendly way!"

"Jamie Madrox, you have won another week of service to the Beautification Committee!"

"Maia Rutledge, you have a regular detention from last week. D'anna Biers, please see me in my office at your earliest convenience!"

"The following people have won the Detention Lottery in what I have to assume is an office error that resulted in too many people but is nonetheless the law of the land: William Kessler, Jaye Tyler, and Naomi Wildman."

"Finally, please note that today is Friday the 13th, so you should probably beware any ladders, black cats, and mirrors that look good for breaking if you can avoid them!"

As the class trickled in their teacher was no where to be seen. The sign up was in the front of the class for people to sign as they came in. And there was another stack of handouts next to it. This one much thicker than the last hand out he’d given with even subsections. It was several minutes after everyone arrived that suddenly Yondaime was standing in the front of the class looking more than a little haggard and with nothing more than a blur through the door to announce his arrival.

Sexy no Jutsu!?!? )

[ooc: Just let me DIE! Sorry this is so late, major problems involving cat fights, pee and possible vacation problems, not necessarily in that order. Wait for OCD please.]

The Danger Room Shop had been configured into a series of stark detention cells.

Vader checked off the names of the students as they entered detention and wordlessly pointed them to their own room.

"You will sit in there for a period of time and think about what you did to get in here," he growled as the interrogation droid that his Ethics students would recognize hovered behind him. "And if you are not feeling as...repentant...as you should be, you will continue to stay in that cell all. day. long."

The doors slammed shut behind each student, leaving them in darkness.

OOC: ETA: I have plans for tonight, woe, so I will pick up all hanging pings in the morning. Your characters got out of detention around 5 o'clock Fandom time and Vader was pissy all. day. long. Thanks for playing!!
