There were figures and paints ready for the class this week. But there was also a movie set up. Or a series of videos. One of those things. This one had been chosen by Cara and Jane was fully trusting it was related to the class. Jane needed to learn better, honestly.

Cara needed to learn better, instead of just assuming the word 'attack' meant it'd be vaguely violent.

"Today will be a nice, easy day with the movie playing. Feel free to paint along?" Jane was asking more than telling. Painting was happening, right?

"Right, keep doing that." It was entirely possible that the entire classroom would somehow end up paper-mached through absolutely no fault of Cara or Jane's.

"This Sunday is Father's Day," Steve said, "which can bring up a lot of complicated feelings for folks, especially on this island."

"So, we have paint bombs for you to set off," Tony said because he dealt with his daddy issues in a normal way. "Non-lethal bombs. Don't worry."

"I double checked," Steve said with a little smile, nodding. "Take out the various shadowy figures throughout the course or use them on each other, but make sure you're not wearing anything you like."

"It'll be fun!" Tony was blowing up so much stuff.

Freaking Howard. "And possibly cathartic," Steve agreed.

Jon greeted the students with a nod. "Today is Juneteenth in the United States, which Fandom is nominally a part of. It's a celebration to mark the end of officially recognized slavery in this country." He looked like he wanted to say a lot more, but restrained himself.

"We'll be going to Galveston, Texas, which is where the holiday originated, for a reading of the official proclamation ending slavery, then enjoying the nearby festival. Again, I have sunscreen if you don't. Please use it liberally."
