Anakin and Ahsoka were standing in front of eight tables, each of which held a bunch of bananas, a cutting board, and--worryingly--duct tape, masking tape, a stapler and a glue stick. "Welcome to Creative Problem Solving," Anakin said.

"There's a saying that when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail," Ahsoka added. "Our plan is to teach you creative ways to use that hammer."

"And to think on your feet using what you have available," Anakin said like having these particular items would be a normal situation for some of them.

"Just remember there are no wrong answers in this class," Ahsoka said. "But we will be judging on how creatively you interpret our instructions while still staying within them."

"We'll do introductions as you explain your creations," Anakin said. "Make the biggest and best banana using only the supplies you have in front of you. You have 120 seconds, after which Ahsoka and I will judge you." The creations, right, Anakin? Not the participants?

The creations, right?

"And after we're done judging, we'll give you homework," Anakin said. Because summer homework was the best!

Jag still wasn't sure about the teaching thing. He had no intention of being here long enough to make it through the session, but he also didn't hate the distraction.

Jaina on the other hand had dealt with the moose before, she'd resigned herself to her fate. She'd worked the Danger Shop up to look like a classroom, like she'd done fixed if times before.

"Good morning,," Jaina greeted them. "I'm Jaina, this is Jagged, and this is Teamwork."

There was just the slightest Look on Jag's face at being introduced by his first make. He was not used to that. He wasn't sure he liked it. He soldiered on anyway. "In this class you're going to be faced with scenarios that will test your ability to work in groups. It's fairly straightforward. We'll be meeting here unless otherwise specified."

"And since we're right at the start of the first week of classes, we're going to go easy on you," Jaina said. "We're going to do a round of introductions, tell us your name and why you're here, and then you can leave early while we work on the rest of the syllabus from that."

Jon looked at his (thankfully small) class and sighed. "Hello. I...well, I've given up on asking the moose for specific courses at this point. So. I'm Jonathan Sims, and welcome to The Art of Conversation, apparently. The first week of classes is traditionally for introductions, which seems like as good a start of conversation as any. If you're going to talk with someone, you should know who they are and vice versa."

He took a deep breath and stood a little straighter. "As I said, I'm Jonathan Sims. I come from England - Bournemouth originally and London more recently - and roughly this year. And I am here because I'm meant to be instructing you. Now you." He nodded to them.

Class met on the front steps of the school today, as everyone had been handwavily notified to do.

Ghani was waiting for them, in a simple Fremen tunic and pants, sturdy boots, and Trebor in a toddler sling on her back.

"Hello, friends both old and new," she said with a smile. "I am Ghanima Atreides, the fine fellow with me is my son Trebor, and this is National Park Adventure Team!"

"For the rest of the term, we will be touring the National parks around the world, but today, I want to gauge your fitness level before I start planning too much! We're going to start off with a fairly easy hike -- we're going to the Carlsbad Caverns in the Guadalupe Mountains of southeastern New Mexico, here in the United States. We have tickets to tour the caverns, and then we can walk the wilderness area afterwards if there is time."

Almost as if right on cue, a portal appeared behind Ghanima, with a stunning view on the other side.

"Alright, Adventure Team," she continued cheerfully. "Let's start walking and talking!"
