"I've realized," Ignis admitted, "as I was going over my thoughts on what we haven't covered yet in this class, that I may have skipped right over a common staple in many kitchens simply because they are not devices I myself tend to use often, and that is the humble toaster and its counterpart, the toaster oven. And, as with many of these appliances and devices, the name is a good deal indictive of its purpose: to toast things, using radiated heat. They are often times notorious for being fickle and imprecise devices, varying wildly from product to product, although with a bit of practice and familiarity, one often can manage to know the precise conditions to produce a perfect slice of toasted bread with a beloved toaster.

"Of course," he continued, with a wave of his hand as he ushered in what should be quite obvious to them by now, "a toaster can be used for more than just toast, and a toaster oven opens the door to a myriad of other possibilities, and we will be exploring our options in today's class. But let us first discuss how a toaster works before we start getting into exactly what to use them for."

"It's tourist trap time again," Lana said cheerfully. "A lot of these tend to revolve around food," she noted. "I'm not entirely sure why that is, except that food is always a good lure."

Hopefully you'd all end up better off than fish, though.

"Today we're heading off to the Robert's Western World in Nashville, in the US," she said, waving them through the portal. "Apparently it's well known for it's good country and western music, and they've got live music," she added unnecessarily, as she had to raise her voice to be heard. "Also apparently they have a lot of fried food."

She gave up trying to say anything else and just waved them at the place.

Habits of Highly Efficient People [Monday, Period Three]

As happened every so often with these two, class had been told to meet at Cafe Fina, where there was a lavish spread waiting for them.

"Networking!" It looked an awful lot like brunch, Isabela. Afternoon brunch. "It's how highly efficient people find other highly efficient people and talk shop."

Over afternoon brunch, apparently.

"And since by now you should all be highly efficient people, it's time so see how well you mingle," Aphra told them over the rim of her mimosa.

"So get to it."
